The phone had no hardware issues. It looked great, and its battery kept it awake a LONG time. I love the fact that this phone is super durable and made to last, I had one before I lost it to the river. Concerning software performance, it was just how my previous s8 active was except for apps crashing when trying to paste a copied text - which is not the biggest deal-breaker for me. What made me return the phone was the fact that it is only GSM compatible (so ATT or Tmobile for my area, and not my CDMA line with Verizon). So I went ahead and bought a new/non-refundable line -thank God I hadn't yet ported my phone number before trying the sim card- and the phone did beautifully in terms of Data access and texting with AT&T but could not place or receive any calls (no matter who I talked to in customer service or network engineers) So I went to try T-Mobile and found out that I could not send or receive texts with but could place calls and access the internet. And of course, I need to be able to use all 3. So the conclusion is that the phone is not really GSM compatible (and I wasn't willing to waste more money on other carriers to find more disappointment because they don't cover my area anyway) ... show more

I hardly used the Samsung S8 Active that I bought (1-2 hours a week on-time) and it just failed when trying to boot it (it went into the bootloop then just bricked) They refused to replace, only refund and not even the full refund

    • No longer functional on T-Mobile/Sprint network
8 days after I purchased this T-Mobile discontinued the 4G that this phone functions on. I now have to switch between LTE and GSM to alternate between data and phone calls requiring a reboot in the process
