I have had pretty good luck with refurbished electronics. Modern electronic devices should basically last forever if you don't abuse them. I DID abuse my old Samsung S8, which is why i had to replace it with this one. The refurbished device was indistinguishable from a new one, except for the packaging. The device was totally clean and scratch free, it had the latest operating system, and the set up was a breeze. The phone was described as "excellent condition" but, per Amazon Guideline, that was not correct. There were many scratches on the back of the phone, which should have been sold as "Good" condition. Functionally, it is working so far.

This is the first time I bought “renewed” anything..so I am skeptical about everything. However I see the amazon 90 day safety net, so I bought one. So far I’m quite happy with it. Not a scratch anywhere at all - and trust me if there was one, I would find it. I’ve loaded it up with all the apps, used the hotspot, send the smart view all worked seamlessly so far. The screen quality is superb and I want to know what brand screen protector they use - so I can buy the same brand for my other phone. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 ....is the charging plug. I’m telling you that plug got so hot you needed a kitchen mitt to unplug it, yea it was that bad honestly....so I’m using my own Samsung brand charger and not the generic supplied. But you really can’t go wrong, and I, considering buying a second phone. ... show more

I just reordered this phone from a year ago because my last one got damaged. This time I got a more durable case. Even though its the exact same phone this one seems a lot better. It was much easier to transfer data and came with a real call blocker unlike my last one that just sent the "blocked" calls to voicemail. In every other way my new phone is just like my old one. Everything transferred without hassle, except for my Samsung account refusing to recognize my password even though I reset it 4 times, but that had nothing to do with the phone. I'm glad to know from the experience that I can find my phone and erase the data (factory reset) even with a broken screen when the time comes. Samsung , your phones are great but your account monitoring sucks. ... show more

Bought this as an upgrade and now I'm being told I need another, because even though it's 4g, it's not compatible with cricket's new voice service, which it was on their list of phones that will work with the new service. I had this phone since Friday. When it arrived, i hadn't noticed there was a small crack until I got it pointed out. I tried to shrug it off. Bad move, but I needed a new phone since my old had cracked and it was completely useless. It had started out small only for it to branch out. Fortunately it only is the back but for it being 200 and only a day with the phone, I had to say something. I wish it was more sturdy in the bad. I'm a new samsung owner and I had my husband talk me into buying a Samsung, but he owns an S9 and I've always owned iPhones. I never had issues like this with iPhones so I'm starting to regret this, unless it's just first time unluckiness. Anyways, I love this phone a lot.
