Bought 2018 for an existing ATT Plan. Love this phone! This has been by far one of the most durable phones I have ever owned. When I busted the screen on my old one (went screen down on the edge of concrete), I replaced it with this phone. This phone still works great, has a lot of updates to do when you first get it, so plan to have a day or two of updating the software and firmware (all through ATT push services, but these can leave the phone inactive for a few hours at a time). Phone worked as soon as I stuck my ATT sim in, no need for calling or stopping into the ATT store. This phone works well with my Bluetooth devices (smartwatch, headphones, car radio). Only downside is with less RAM, that it can get bogged down with having too many apps running. Camera works well, it has an option for High Definition Resolution with the rear facing camera that is very detailed and crisp. The front facing camera is lacking a bit, but works. Only has the beauty face for the selfie camera, no panoramic shots for the front facing. Unfortunately with the age of the phone there are not many brand name cases (such as otterbox out there). But lots of after market ones that work great and will make this phone almost indestructible. I would suggest a case with both a hard and soft component to the shell, and one that has a raised edge that extends above the phone, so that if you drop it on tile it doesn't shatter your screen. ... show more

Wasted no time posting this positive for Wireless Warehouse. Phone was listed as very good but in fact it was "Like New" condition. With Prompt, fast shipping, delivery ahead of schedule. Very nice phone, albeit with somewhat, clunky outdated software, however completely functional. Main thing, be patience with first time initialization and setup because it moves slow as device hunts around for configurations and updates. Had to reboot it 3 times to get it fully configured and set. After complete setup device moves along nicely without issue. Upper status shows 4g LTE as expected. T-Mobile recognized device and messaged setup install file so it's confirmed to be unlocked and compatible with GSM. Apps automatically updated with my consent. While the start was slow the entire update and setup was a breeze. All in all my best experience purchasing a used SmartPhone. Thanks. UPDATE: Seller updated Smartphone to 5.0 which is even better than expected. The few apps I need were all updated running good. In case of Google Chrome you'll need to switch directly to Google Play to update. ... show more

WARNING! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! First off let me say that there are 2 reasons they only get 1 star. 1st is that's the lowest amazon allows you to give. 2nd is because they were very responsive during the whole ordeal, and it was shipped fast. I almost didn't write this review but because I look at reviews to determine if I should buy something, I thought I should to warn unsuspecting victims. I hope this helps someone, and if it does, push this to the top so everyone can see it! Now let's get to why I said do not buy from them. I ordered a NEW samsung galaxy s5 active. And I received a NEW Samsung galaxy s5 active. When I opened it, I realized the battery in the phone was completely dead... it really shouldn't be completely dead. After charging it for hours upon hours, I realized this battery was no good and wouldn't hold a charge. I emailed them and requested a new battery. I received it a few days later.. no big deal right? WRONG. After less than a week the phone started having problems, first the flashlight that comes stock with the phone from the tool box didn't work properly. Once it was turned on, it wouldn't turn off unless you restared the phone. Second, the phone would continusly become "unlocked" in ur pocket or while carrying it. Ok no problem, since it was just on a swipe screen lock, I changed it to a pattern, but once it was supposed to be activated with new lock screen, it never came up to be used. So when the phone was locked it would show swipe instead of pattern... hmmp... Third times the charm! The phone all of a sudden went mute. As in if I called someone they couldn't hear me at all! Like the microphone for the phone completely stopped working. I tried to use speaker to no avail... that was the last straw. I contacted them about this, explained that the phone was defective and that I would like a replacement. A couple of days later I received the replacement. But when I opened the package I already knew something was wrong. I initially paid for a NEW phone, and they sent me a REFURBISHED phone as a replacement. Really? I contacted them again, explained that I received a refurbished phone instead of the new phone as I had purchased and expected a new phone as a replacement. Their offer was "will you accept a partial refund of $35.00 and accept this phone instead?" Are you Serious? If I had wanted refurbished that's what I would have ordered to begin with. But that's not what I wanted nor paid for. I kindly denied the offer and asked for a FULL refund including shipping I had to pay to send the phone back 2 times (prime member, never paid for shipping to begin with) because they knowingly sent me a refurbished phone instead of a new one and pocketed the profit. They replied that once the phone was received back to them they would give me a full refund. Fast forward to today, I get an email from amazon saying I'm getting a refund, but it's not even the full amount I paid for the phone! I'm not even counting the shipping refund I requested! After talking to the awesome amazon CSR she fixed my problem. And I'm here to say BUYER BEWARE! I have never had so many issues with a distributor from amazon in my life. Especially one that would knowingly try to get over on you to benifit them. Don't do business with them, they don't care about the satisfaction of their customer. If all had went well they would have made more money from me as I have 2 teen daughters that are getting old enough for a cell phone, so they really hurt them selves in the end.     • Good on the go work phone with a few small annoyances
I needed a replacement unlocked Android phone. I also needed it fast, as my other phone had died unexpectedly and I was traveling at the time. I use my phone for work, not for playing around with games or media. After doing some research, I chose this phone and overnighted it to myself. It arrived promptly and well packaged. Although it is an AT&T branded phone I am using it with another carrier and have not had a problem. I do find the start up AT&T music a little bit annoying but I'm told there is an app to silence it which I plan to install. The phone is heavily loaded with AT&T and Samsung apps but with a little rearranging I either deleted them or relegated them to one of the other 4 "home" screens (i.e. out of sight unless I want to see them) and used the specific Home Screen Settings to get rid of the annoying Magazine feature that at first I kept accidentally opening up. Now I only see the apps I care about on the main screen. In spite of all those apps, the phone is *fast* in everything I have used it for so far. The phone is a bit large for my average sized woman's hand, but not unmanageable. I can't use it one handed nor does it fit in my jeans pocket however I can hold it easily in one hand and it doesn't weigh very much. Given the larger and larger phone sizes they keep making, this was the best I could find that also had the features I wanted. The center of gravity is slightly off and when I pick it up without looking at it, it always ends up rotated sideways in my hand. Another oddity, although not a show stopper either, is that every time I turn it on a message appears reminding me to make sure the back battery cover is properly snapped on. I checked with a friend who has the same phone and he said this also happens to him. In both our cases the cover is firmly in place. A rep in the AT&T store told me this is a Samsung hardware issue not an AT&T issue and suggested I call Samsung support. I haven't done so because it hasn't so far seemed worth the time and effort. The battery is excellent. It blows my prior phone (Nexus 4, which I loved overall) out of the water because even with fairly heavy usage (uploads, downloads, some media) I don't have to charge it every night. It also charges rapidly. I have listed a bunch of odd or somewhat annoying things about the phone but compared to the features most important to me, these are things I can live with. I needed an unlocked phone, as I travel overseas and need to be able to switch network to network without issues. And as I mentioned the battery is excellent. The sound quality is excellent also, and the front and back cameras high quality. I have watched a few videos and they come across extremely well. This phone cost several hundred dollars less than other unlocked phones with similar features and less good technical online reviews (although it is still not a cheap phone by any stretch of the imagination). I'm depending upon the Gorilla Glass to prevent the demise of the phone if it is ever dropped on a cement floor (as happened with my Nexus) Overall, so far so good. Humble seller, calling the phone "Good" condition, but I'd say it is "Excellent"! The screen was in pristine condition and the body of the phone had barely a scratch on the back panel. A little bit of crust on the body was quickly wiped away with a sani cloth, making the whole thing look Like New. This thing is small but has some heft! Forgot how hardy they made these things back then. Booted up immediately with 95% battery. Screen output itself was bright and sharp with no areas of burn out or missing pixels. Apps and operation still zippy and touch responsive. Camera works well without issues. Once all the apps and functionality are optimized, I'll be using this as a starter camera and distraction for my kid (for less than $50, it beats out just about ANY other cheap camera meant for kids on Amazon, lol). This phone is fantastic. I upgraded from an older T-Mobile Samsung and the difference in speed is phenomenal. Like many other refurbished items the phone could easily be mistaken for new if it had all the consumer packaging. Shipping was a little slower than I had hoped. I ordered a case seperately from Amazon with Prime shipping and it arrived on time, one day ahead of the phone which was a little late. I will probably not be checking whether or not the phone really is waterproof. I still use a Frieq dry bag and waterproof headphones while I am out on teh water. If the bag ever does leak I am hopeful the phone will be fine. I do not use AT&T. Voice worked immediately with T-Mobile once I picked up a micro-sim at my neighborhood shop.4GLTE worked once I set the network, which was not very difficult. ... show more

The S5 Active is a good phone. I really liked all the features except that you couldn't change the home active screen for the apps....barometer, compass etc. I would have liked to be able to add or delete items to that screen. On that note...the DO NOT BELIEVE Samsung when they say the S5 Active is water - resistant!! IT IS NOT according to their own IP-67 rating performance standards! I am very thorough about my gear and made sure the battery case and the charger flip were properly stowed and inserted. After a quick, less than 2 minute dip in a river, less than a foot deep, it flooded. Samsung will NOT honor the warranty for "liquid damage". Well if the phone had performed as advertised, there would have been no damage to the phone. This phone is rain/ sweat resistant only. Don't depend on it for anything else. Samsung has a tedious warranty process as well. I was very unhappy with their customer service and I'm normally a very happy person. Buyer Beware of Samsung's false advertising. ... show more
