🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 (Renewed) generally receives positive feedback for its performance, with users noting the high-quality camera, vivid display, and smooth multitasking capabilities. The device appears to work well for daily usage and the included fast charging is appreciated. However, there are concerns over longevity, the efficacy of biometric features, and potential software compatibility issues for non-Verizon users.

Pros

  • 📱 High-quality camera that allows for professional-level photos and videos.
  • 🔒 Factory unlocked providing flexibility with carriers.
  • 🔋 Good battery life and fast charging capabilities, including a charging block.
  • 🖥️ Bright and vivid display, easily visible in direct sunlight.
  • 🚀 Fast processor ensures smooth multitasking without lag.

Cons

  • ⚠️ Occasional overheating, especially during extensive camera usage or initial setup.
  • 🔓 Biometric features (fingerprint sensor and face recognition) can be finicky, with some users finding them less reliable than desired.
  • 🔧 Some users report issues with receiving updates if not using a Verizon SIM card, leading to potential support challenges.
  • 🔋 There are mixed reviews on battery performance when compared to older models or different brands.

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a high-quality smartphone with a good camera and display at a value price, the Samsung Galaxy S22 (Renewed) is a strong candidate. However, if you prioritize software updates and require highly consistent biometric security features, you might want to consider potential limitations or explore other models. Ensure compatibility with your carrier to avoid signal issues.

  • Great phone
I ordered the S22 refurbished to replace my S9. It was packaged well and out of the box, looked in great condition. There was just some plastic peeling on a corner, but with the phone in a case, it's never visible or an issue. I've had the phone a month and half now and it works amazing. It's a major upgrade from the S9. The battery life is double what my S9 was at. i can easily go over 24 hours without a charge... longer, if I don't play my games as much as I do. I do not use Bluetooth or location services often, so I have those off 95% of the time, and I also don't make phone calls, so the battery life is dependent on playing games, using the internet and texting mostly. It was unlocked, as advertised, even though I messaged them prior to please double check, since there were reviews of them not being unlocked. I am on cricket, and it works with no issues. No complaints. If you are looking to buy a used phone that won't break your wallet, this company is worth the shot. ... show more

  • Basically brand new
So I've always been skeptical of buying refurbished items but my sister did it so I kinda thought why not? I bought this from the seller Wireless Source back on the 17th and I and received it on the 20th. So it was delivered quickly. It came in a brown box with a printed stickt label detailing what's inside. Upon opening the box, the phone box was wrapped nicely in packaging. I was surprised the seller had placed the phone into another box but super glad they did because it was STROMING! After taking the phone out of the box, first impressions was DAMN! The color is gorgeous and slick, the seller already put on screen protector. It was pretty much brand new! It had no scratches, chips, missing piant, absolutely NOTHING. It came with a charger and the pin to open the sim card area. The phone did come in dead so I immediately placed it on the charger. After about an hour give or take (I went to Walmart so came back so now exactly sure when it was fully charged) it was charged, and I turned it on with no issues. I set up the photo manually which was super simple to do after I inserted my sim card. I didn't need a code or anything it just asked me if I wanted to use the Sims card or use a new one. Once I verified that I wanted to use the old Sims card, it immediately recognized it as AT&T and asked me to click okay to switch over. Done. All my apps are on and updated. Everything is set to my liking and I've had no issues at all. I've had the phone for 2 full days now and the phone actually automatically adjust the brighteness if you are outside or in a dim environment. Just be careful because you have to readjust the brightness whenever you like it after. The phone battery life is pretty darn good. I'm currently at 45% and it's 5:07pm where I'm located. The phone has been used actively since 8am off charger. The camera quality is fantastic. Volume and sound is phenomenal. There is lots of storage and I have plenty more of exploring to do on the phone. I have let the phone die and had no problems with charging and turning back on. It will let you add a fingerprint for protection later one which I thought was cool because I didn't have to set thay up right away. Samsung is just the best for that. I bought a case to match the phone as well. I absolutely love the phone so far. The only downside, in my opinion, is that I can not add an SD card. Other then that, it's an exceptional phone. I will definitely update later if anything starts happening or I find cool stuff regarding the phone but so far so good! ... show more

  • I'm dissapointed
NOT FACTORY UNLOCKED! I didn't realize this immediately because it is not specifically sim-locked, and data and calling worked fine. Fast forward 6 months, I get an email from work telling me I'll be kicked off the MDM policy (work email on personal phone) unless I update my OS. Evidently it was a Verizon phone, which can only receive software updates if you have Verizon SIM card. I have spent days trying to get support from Samsung, Verizon, AT&T, Amazon, and the Amazon seller only to be told to pound sand >:[ It would seem my only option now is to take a risk with leaked / pirated firmware flashing, which I'm worried will trip the Knox security (which is the only reason I bought the phone in the first place, as Knox security was required by my employer). The phone itself is also disappointing. I started with a OnePlus 5t, which I was very happy with. When I was required to get a Samsung, I went to an A52 5g. The fingerprint sensor and face recognition were both so bad that unlocking the phone was a massive chore (something I do dozens of times a day). I suffered through this for a little while before upgrading to the S22. I very much resent the trend of under-display sensors which do not perform as well as their more visible counterparts. The S22 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is vastly better than the optical one on the A52, but it still is inferior compared to a sensor on the back of the phone like on my older OnePlus. Heck, even my old galaxy S5 had a better fingerprint sensor. The face detection is a little better than the A52, but not as good as the OnePlus 5t. It really struggles in low light, and must be directly in front of your face. Nobody does face detection as well as Apple, but that's probably due to patent limitations (and I refuse to go back to iphone until they allow sideloading). One notable issue both the A52 and S22 suffer is an inability to detect they are in my pocket. I must deliberately place the phone with the screen facing outwards or else the fingerprint reader will constantly register false attempts against my leg (which will lock you out of using biometrics) Battery life is not impressive. Once again the 5t was better. This may not be entirely fair b/c I do use the always-on display, but on the other hand the processor should be much more efficient for how much newer it is. I mostly believe this is similar to the issue of constantly waking up in my pocket. A proper proximity sensor could have solved this rather than just using the selfie camera, which is again another example of form over function (It also seems like samsung doesn't even attempt to detect being in you pocket in order to reduce battery / ignore touch screen). ... show more

  • Almost 5/5
A little bit under excellent condition but still really good. Fair warning for first time buyers of this product: the product comes in brown box, only phone and a charger included. DO NOT simply change your sim, it won't be that simple. You must go to your carrier in person so they may activate the Sim on your new phone. It won't just work immediately by changing it. Yes it is carrier unlocked so do not worry, the people complaining did not do the process properly. The battery may last approx 5-8 hours or less depending on usage, gaming, etc. There are some specs of dust within the top of the screen where I assume the speaker is but everything else is cosmetically good. The speed is very nice, if you are coming to an android from iPhone please beware that you must unregister your iPhone with the phone number to receive texts from iPhone phones or else it'll be stuck in imessage. Overall nice inexpensive purchase for a modern phone. - Edit: Yeah I have no idea what everyones talking about. I had an iphone x before this and the battery lasted maybe 5 hours with heavy use--with small things I could do to optimize it and even an upgraded battery. Im currently at work, work has been very slow so ive been on tiktok, instagram, tinkering with settings, texting, sending videos and photos, all at the same time while listening to a podcast since I left for work which was 2pm. It is currently 7pm and I am still at 52%. Assuming i'd use it all the same way that means this battery could've lasted me 8-10 hours, without charging!! Please get to know your phone and look at videos on tips to optimize it and extend the battery life because the battery is definitely NOT bad!! ... show more

  • Did not work with xfinity mobile
It arrived quickly and looked great. But it was DEAD dead and needed to charge for a while, that is reasonable. I could not get the eSim to work with Xfinity mobile. I don't know if the eSim was not working or if the phone was locked to a incompatible carrier. They approved my return/refund request- phone is shipped and I'm just waiting for my money back. ... show more

  • Looks like new!!
Great phone. Came in looking like perfect condition. I will say the battery life isn't the greatest. I seem to have to charge it a couple times a day, but to be fair... I do use it heavily since I basically run my travel agency via my phone while on the go

  • Good condition
The phone is in good condition no visible scratches. I was a little concerned because it said it was linked to Verizon when I first turned it on, but then I installed an AT&T SIM card and it transferred seamlessly.
