After first 3 days finally ready to give a review. I needed to replace my old Samsung A01 and was limited on funds. After many weeks of reviewing and watching Videos I choose this one. After using Smart Switch and transferring the Apps/Data/Photos/Contacts and Settings. I then tweaked a few settings and removing preinstalled Apps I don't need or want and hid a few other things, finally have it the way I want and setup. This is a very nice phone for the Money, everything is better then I was expecting. Taking Photos that are Sharp, The Default Camera app and settings slightly over saturates the Photos but can fix in a Editor. Scrolling is Smooth, Video is nice, Audio is impressive for such a small device especially if you play with the Equalizer. Very Responsive opening apps, Nice Storage Flexibility, Bluetooth works great. To me this is a very solid Device, took less then 3 mins to activate it once i got a new Sim from Verizon, Installed a new Samsung 256gig Memory Card, and its good to go. I also got the Goton for Samsung A53 5G Case, which is perfect for this Phone even has a nice Camera Protector built In it. Very Happy and Highly Recommend this Phone. Only Con is that it does not come with a Quick Guide / or users Manual. No biggie though with the Sites I found to setup everything as i wanted once the Smart Switch was done to tweak it. ... show more

    • Great replacement for my S10 Galaxy
My old S10 was working fine but battery life was short. The new A53 is much better on battery life and does not need to charge during the day. The phone is fast enough, has a good camera and the finger print reader is quick.

I bought this A53 to replace my cracked A50. Easy transfer of apps and login data. Phone is refurbished - Excellent. There are 5 small dings on the back cover, and micro scratches on the glass. I plan to add a case so the dings do not bother me; the micro scratches are so small as to be unnoticeable unless you are really scrutinizing. Overall, this phone is great, and a big upgrade from the A50. My Verizon sim had 0 issues and the phone was already active at 8% of the Samsung smart transfer. ... show more

    • They didn't even mark this as "PAID" and Verizon suspended my phone number
First of all, I purchased two of these. This company never marked them as paid so Verizon thought I was committing fraud as I tried to attach a phone number to them. They suspended my SIM cards and I'm waiting for new ones. Secondly, the phones were in poor condition. Battery didn't hold a charge well, updating CONSTANTLY, no one could hear you talking unless you turned on speaker phone... and finally, one of them finished ANOTHER security update and the touch screen stopped working all together. Couldn't even turn off the phone. Amazon finally agreed to refund me but at what cost? One of my lines is SUSPENDED and they won't reverse this without a new SIM card. I was looking for a Samsung A54 on Verizon. I did not find one. I came across the A53 and I am glad I did!! Fantastic feel, great performance and couldn't be happier with this device!! Software Updates for the next 3 years...up to Android 16 + about 4 years of Security updates! Well worth the Investment! Love my Smasung A53!! ... show more

This phone is very good in everything it has to offer! Battery came in great shape as I ran a battery health check. This phone was specifically purchased as not unlocked, prior provider was Verizon and is what I had so I recommended to double check when purchasing a phone if what you want is “unlocked” The screen was in mint condition with very minimal marks, when I contacted the seller they were very kind and very understanding.     • The A53 5g UW That I Received Was SIM Locked

Title says it all, the phone is SIM locked to Verizon only. It will not work on any other carrier, not even a MVNO, like Page Plus, that runs on (and is actually owned by) Verizon's network. You have to have actual Verizon post paid service to use this phone. And no, you can't pay any of the online phone unlock companies to unlock it; per the email that I received from one of them: "Device doesn't prompt for an Unlocking Code After we received your code from the manufacturer, we have had a notification from them that this device does not ask for an unlocking code when an incompatible sim card is inserted, and instead requires unlocking via your Device Unlock App . As such, it is not possible to unlock this device with a remote unlock code via IMEI." Unfortunately, the "Device Unlock App" that they refer to is not present on an unactivated A53 5G UW. You have to activate on Verizon's network, with Verizon service, in order for it to appear. Even then, you still have to wait 60 days for the handset to unlock itself, which from what i have learned, happens automatically on Verizon due to a FCC requirement related to Verizon's ownership of some 700 mhz spectrum. The handset itself is actually brand new, still in a sealed box - not refurbished. Which is the main problem - it wasn't previously activated on Verizon. Apart from not being able to get any cellular service, it functions beautifully - great camera, fast web browsing, speedy user interface. It just updated itself to Android 14 and Samsung's One UI 6.1. It just can't be used as an actual phone due to the SIM lock. If you decide to purchase from this seller and you don't have Verizon service, make sure that they send you an actual used handset, not a brand new one. ... show more
