The quality of the phone feels pretty solid. It was easy to setup. So far my experience has been good, no technical issues. I recommend you purchase or place a non slip case on the phone because it will slip right out of your hands due to the smooth back. The camera is pretty good for the price it also has some nice additional features. I'm able to text and call with no issues. I haven't done any heavy gaming but the battery will lasts all day or even a couple of days with light usage such as browsing or texting. I did see someone mention that it's partially compatible with services like T-Mobile, I'm using MetroPCS and I still get 5G data in more areas than LTE. It did come with 8gb of ram. By default it uses 4gb of ram for virtual memory so you will have to manually change it to use 8gb (it will use more storage space) so you can allow more apps to stay open in the background. I like the look of the phone, it has a modern sleek look to it. The display of the phone looks good and it's fast because of that 90hz refresh rate, you can do some light gaming on it. To me 256gb is a great amount of storage especially for the price, you can always add more storage by inserting an sd card up to 2TB!! This phone will receive six years of software and os upgrades until 2031, I honestly could not find a better deal than this. Overall, I think this a great phone to purchase for anyone who is on a budget like me. ... show more

"International" Model Samsung Galaxy A17 5g....(8GB + 256GB). This is the way to go if you're considering a new Galaxy A17. Retail US version model of this phone (2GB + 128) is actually not that great. There have been mixed reviews about not being able to use the phone with their current carriers... Not in my case, I had no issues at all whatsoever. If you do have a problem...."Read The Instructions" like you're supposed to do anyways, it explains how to correct service and connectivity issues with the international version. Bought this to replace my son's Moto G Power 2021 that was still working, but with a problematic charging port. If you weren't aware, this has double the storage space and RAM of the US version. My son had been using Visible by Verizon service, but when I moved the SIM over to this phone, phone calling and SMS worked, but data wouldn't work at all. Visible support told me this phone wasn't supported. I then discovered Visible are selling the inferior US version of this phone and then it made sense. Happily, I found that US Mobile had a really good deal on a 1 year unlimited service plan and signed up. After having their support verify the IMEI is supported, I used their Verizon SIM and everything works perfectly now on this phone, including 5G. While I recognize that it's not going to be as good regarding 5G coverage as the US version, it will work well enough for what my son needs. ... show more

Spanking! I'm listening to it now. YouTube stream interrupted when I received a text, hopefully that's a fluke. Really liking it and I usually dislike new phones. Glad I bought another Samsung. AND... (drum roll...) Smart View has returned! (Seemless casting to Roku without extra apps.) REALLY glad to see that. It updated to Android 16 and Samsung One UI 8. I didn't even know it was out. Also double-tapping screen on and off has returned (didn't function on last phone). Very happy with this phone. It is slippery, perhaps an edge- only case. (And finally my all- black theme and custom wallpaper is working again. The description is wrong, there is no audio jack. Bluetooth works fine. Listening to it now. If text interrupting streaming persists I'll update. Great phone, great price. Update: The next day the bank tech couldn't hear my headphone mic and the automated system couldn't receive my keypad number selections. After 3 tries had to revert to my old phone to get the job done. I was liking it and I'll give it another chance, but this is worrisome. I have noticed the phone is slow during certain tasks and I am wondering if it has to do with the version. I would not have bought it if I had known that. After owning this phone for nearly 4 months, I am extremely satisfied. It does everything a phone should do and does it well. With 8GB of RAM (4GB by default, expandable to 8GB by using 4GB of the internal memory), it opens apps quickly, and the overall experience is snappy. Multiple apps/windows do not slow the phone down at all. Wi-Fi will also connect to my network swiftly. It ships with Android 15, but with up to 6 major Android upgrades (a significant reason why I chose to purchase), I updated to Android 16 immediately without any issues whatsoever. The battery life is outstanding (but keep in mind that I do not use my phone for gaming; the most intensive battery drain would be watching videos). Still, it barely loses percentage from such actions. The 256GB of internal memory is also notable, as it allows me to load all the apps I need that my old phone's 64GB limit prevented. Calls are crystal clear, and I have had no problems with callers hearing me (Bluetooth headphones included). It also takes impressive photos and videos with great clarity and detail, and offers numerous features/options to apply (e.g., Panorama, Food, Night, Slow Motion, and Hyperlapse). The phone sometimes switches to LTE, but aside from a few seconds of delay when sending or receiving texts, it has not been a significant issue. The other phones I owned, I purchased specifically for my carrier, and they never did this. I attribute it to the lack of Band 71 (B71), which is a crucial low-frequency (600 MHz) cellular band used by T-Mobile (my carrier) in the U.S. for extended 4G LTE and foundational 5G (n71) coverage. You cannot purchase a better device (spec-wise) at this price right now (especially not with up to 6 Android upgrades, which will outlast the phone). A couple of things to note: it is an international model without a manufacturer's warranty (as explicitly stated in the product description, "International Model without Warranty"). Upon receiving it and powering it on, the language was not English, so I had to Google how to change it to get past the initial screen and set it up. That change was simple, but I had to adjust other minor things, such as the weather temperature (from Celsius to Fahrenheit). My review is not to discourage potential buyers, but to clearly explain that you are purchasing an international phone. As such, the manufacturer's warranty does not apply. While this is not uncommon (if you buy any product from a different country, the warranty does not transfer, except for one well-known company), I feel others should be aware of it. I am currently very happy with the phone, but I believe customers should know the vital information I have included before making a purchase. I rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars (rounded up). Again, you cannot obtain a new phone with these specs and the amount of upgrades at a better price. ... show more
