the phone this seller sold me was supposed to be "unlocked" and was advertised as "unlocked". when i received the device and attempted to activate new service to the bring your own device mobile service plan I had already paid for it just wouldn't work no matter what the technician would do so he investigated the settings and discovered that it had been intentionally tampered with, with the intention to deceive someone by making it appear "on the surface" to be unlocked. in the device settings "if your phone shows app (instead of a carrier name like tmobile/verizon/at&t) you have essentially found the "smoking gun". this happens when a phone has been tampered with CROSS-FLASHED. essentially, a seller took a phone that was originally locked to a specific carrier and used unauthorized sofware to force it to LOOK like an unlocked model. because the hardware and software are now having a "diagreement," the phone can't identify the network properly and defaults to a generic placeholder-APP and the phone isn't usable". -google gemini-samsung customer service ... show more
