I am more than happy with this machine. A lifelong Windows user, this is my first Chromebook. It does everything I need it to without all the headaches associated with a windows based computer. Has made my computer usage so much more enjoyable. Windows had it's place earlier in my life and work, but this machine and platform is so much better for surfing the web, research and social media. I bought this computer for my grandparents, who are not very computer savvy. If you're familiar with Android in any way, you'll be comfortable enough with Chrome OS. The battery life on this little thing is much better than I imagined, and sleep mode uses barely any power. My grandmother needed more digital independence with a larger screen to be able to communicate with family and friends; this computer does that with ease. If you're looking for something for either someone unfamiliar with computers, or looking for a productivity solution, this would be a great option. ... show more

It's as good as a Google Chromebook can be. Well made. Nice keystrokes. The volume is a bit lacking, but that's what headphones are for. The screen is clear. It holds a charge well, too. One star deducted because of the volume. Otherwise, this is a good computer.

Laptop looks brand new. No scratches or stickers on cover. Using it to type this review. I am rusty typing as I've just used a touchscreen fire tablet for so long. Having used chrome, it was super easy to just log into my account once I plugged it in and hooked up to my Wi-Fi. The screen is good for watching prime movies and u tube movies. If the screen doesn't look great, you realize you have to adjust the cover according to light in the room, how you are viewing it, etc. This acts as my TV really! I would suggest buying some small speakers, which I did, to boost the volume. The speaker volume is too low for me to hear movies well enough. A $10 set I bought fixed that problem. Works good….updated for me. So far, no complaints. Worth the money for a 15-inch laptop. ... show more

Nice quality build, good to use. However, the screen has very poor viewing angles and contrast. Not noteable when working with documents or bright pages, but when watching a video the dark areas look light or almost inverted sometimes. Even the black bar at top and bottom will look different to each other - I could not find an eye level in which one or both bars didn't look grey / backlit. I compared to an older HP Chromebook 14-ca043cl 14" which has a much better screen (blacks are black and good viewing angle). Note the charger that comes with the chromebook may be a 'travel charger' wall-wart without a mains cord. As for the chromebook being refurbished, it was in perfect condition. ... show more

I've never owned a Chromebook and I'm not really a cell phone person either (I have one, I only use for emergencies and modern day must-haves such as grocery pick-up). I do however have quiet the powerhouse of a desktop PC and needed a way to access it and it's RAM/video hungry applications throughout the house via remote desktop and I needed something with a larger screen for editing, etc. For it's price point, this Chromebook is excellent in my opinion. It arrived looking brand new as if it had never been used. I've always had very good luck with refurbished items, and this was no exception. The Google Remote Access works flawlessly with my powerhouse desktop PC so I'm able to move about the house freely to work. For under $200 I personally think this is a steal!
