  • Samsung is awesome!
This came at great cost and worth the money. Clear crisp and perfect for gaming!

  • Overpriced tiny smart TV, horrible desktop monitor
Worst monitor I have ever owned. It makes things look good but it for the life of it keep a stable connection. If you open an application that's a different resolution, the monitor will disconnect and will not reconnect unless you close the application. It's trying so hard to be a smart TV that it becomes a horrible monitor for a computer. Either buy it without the samsung smart thing or don't buy it at all. You'll save yourself time and frustration. ... show more

  • Design
Es una pantalla perfecta. Tiene todo lo que se necesita altavoces. Conexiones tipo HDMI y display port. Sus colores son vivos. Tiene altos brillos, un diseño trasero de led. Y un diseño frontal de led. Muchas configuraciones y se adapta a todo. No tengo ninguna crítica al respecto.

  • Nice monitor but QC concerns and not good for consoles
I was using a larger Samsung G8 monitor when I was offered this G7 for review. I initally thought the biggest differences between the two would be screen size, different chassis style/color, and bumping down to a 120Hz refresh rate from 240, and the G7 ships with a remote whereas the G8 does not. None of these I considered a big deal because I planned to use the G7 with an Xbox series X and use the G8 with my gaming PC. The Xbox max refresh is 120Hz, so it works out. Assembly of the G7 is simple and is designed to be completed with the monitor still inside the box. Performance is where the G7 is somewhat disappointing overall, at least for console use. Actual gameplay performance on console is good although much like the G8, the HDR seems washed out and leaves a lot to be desired. The monitor had no issues keeping up with the comparatively modest demands of the console. Gaming video was tack sharp, smooth, and flicker free. Lighting effects were excellent and rendered beautifully. The G7 functions much like a smart TV home entertainment hub, whereas the G8 feels more like a dedicated gaming monitor. I had to agree to Samsung’s privacy and streaming policies before using the wifi enabled G7. Once connected, the G7 can stream live video and other content. The home screen can be customized with widgets for quick access to common streaming services. The G7 has a gaming mode but it has a lot of flicker and seemingly indecisiveness while trying to engage. It wouldn’t be too bad if it only happened at the beginning and end of gaming sessions but it also occurs on certain in-game pause and static menus and whenever I invoke the Xbox overlay to record or watch replays. It gets highly annoying at times. Another reason the G7 isn’t optimal for consoles is because whenever any display settings get hosed, like for example when the HDR somehow got disabled, it’s more difficult to troubleshoot and resolve than on PC. Lastly, the XBox app is among the numerous apps pre installed on the G7. Clicking the Xbox app panel instead of the Xbox Series X panel opens the same Xbox app that I have on my smart devices. It’s useful for cloud gaming but does not really support console gaming and isn’t really necessary on a console. The G7 is much more suitable for a PC than a console. It’s a good option for dorms or smaller rooms where it can pull double duty as a streaming smart TV in addition to PC and gaming monitor duties. One other concern I have though is quality. The first G7 I ordered developed a persistent thin green vertical line near the center of the screen within the first hour of use. I included a pic of the line. The replacement has been good so far but I do worry about quality overall compared to the G8. If on the fence deciding between the G7 and G8, the G8 is the better choice despite being more expensive. ... show more

  • I regret buying this monitor
I ordered TWO of this monitor in October 2023. I had had my previous mismatched monitors for 5 & 10 years & thought it was time for an upgrade in terms of technology & aesthetics. I had narrowed my options down to 3 different monitors from 3 different brands. I settled on this Samsung option because I previously had plenty of good experiences with other Samsung products (televisions, washer/dryers, phones). I now regret my choice & cannot possibly recommend anyone buy Samsung monitors. First, let's talk about the biggest issue - the DisplayPort inputs DO NOT WORK. Unfortunately for me, I did not realize this immediately for various reasons or I would've returned them straight away. On one monitor I assumed the issue was with my aging graphics card or the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor. After upgrading my graphics card & buying new cables, along with support chat troubleshooting, I realized this was not the case. The one monitor that had an issue from the beginning never detected my PC being connected via DisplayPort. The second monitor's DisplayPort issues just became clear today. I woke my PC up from Sleep mode after having used it just fine a couple hours prior and suddenly the monitor was not working. I'll attach pictures to illustrate exactly the picture I was seeing. The menu options would appear crystal clear but the picture from my PC itself was no longer functioning via DisplayPort. I tried two different cables in three different ports in my graphics card to no avail. I have one of my older monitors hooked up to my PC via DisplayPort cable & it's working just fine. Both Samsung monitors always worked okay with HDMI cables but the refresh rate was always limited to 60hz using that type of cable & the picture wasn't as nice, which is not why I bought these monitors. The first monitor is currently being repaired under warranty by Samsung. The second will have to wait until I get the first one back. For a $600 monitor I expect it to work as advertised & not break down within 3 months. I've already paid $32 to have one monitor safely packaged to be sent in for repair & it looks like I'm going to have to do it again in the next couple weeks. The monitor's menu interface is also AWFUL, especially if you buy more than one. The remote controls will work on both monitors simultaneously for some of the buttons. I generally had to resort to attempting to use the buttons on the monitor itself, which are not the most intuitive to use because of their orientation on the underside of the monitor. If you're looking to buy new monitors please look elsewhere. ... show more
