I bought the Step 1 colors Mauve-Olous and Shhhh-Immer, Step 2 Shiny Top coat. First of, let me review the colors of each. Color 244 Mauve-Olous is beautiful nude peachy pink. Color 174 Shhhh-Immer is NOT rose gold BUT a shimmery gold with pinkish tint on it. I still like it even if the color is not the same as advertised. The Step 2 shiny top coat is the black bottle on the photo I posted. I ordered the one that is in silver bottle but came in black bottle and I don’t know why. Now I want to talk about the quality. This Miracle Gel polish is advertised as 8 days Mani. I posted 8 days difference to help you judge it for yourself. But of course there are importants things to consider. I’m a full time house wife and a mom to a toddler which means I wash my hands frequently. Also, I am only careful to not accidentally scratch my son but never careful to not break or scratch my nails because I don’t ever want my nails to be hindrance to functioning quickly and properly. To cut it short, I’m pretty rough with my nails but this polish still manage to stay on and only have some chips after 8 days which is good enough for me. The only prep I did is wiping acetone (to remove previous polish) and alcohol on my nails. No buffing or basecoat. ... show more

I love this gel top coat. I'm too cheap to get a manicure every week so I do it myself. The best thing about this is that you get that gel effect without needing the light. And if your nails are weak and thin, a couple coats of this will have them thick and strong until it's time to change the color. My nails always chip easily, usually the same day I get them done. Sally Hansen miracle gel nails last through the work week. And this topcoat works with other brands too, but not quite as well. OPI color gets about the same longevity. However, I can't recommend ordering it. I got 2 on the subscribe and save. The first bottle was chipped at the bottom but still usable and the second had been packed with a larger item in a box big enough to hold a dozen of each, with no filler. The box had busted open and the polish was nowhere to be found. Great top coat, but buy it in store. ... show more

I use this top coat with miracle gel polish and other brands. No matter what I use it on I get super shine that lasts for 2 weeks. Other polish, including salon applied polish chip within the first 2 days. I type constantly on my laptop at work and if I get a minor chip or rough edge I just touch it up. Other polishes don't stand up to showering and shampooing, but this has been the most durable. Easier to remove than glittery colors with regular acetone remover. Another tip is to apply a little apple cider vinegar to bare nails before any polish. It extends the wear and when I'm ready to remove it I can usually peel most of it off, which saves time and cotton balls. But don't worry, it won't peel for two weeks unless you do it intentionally. Hope Sally Hanson doesn't discontinue this product. I find that it dries faster than regular polish...bonus!! ... show more

    • Doesn't take as long to do as traditional gel polish, but doesn't lat as long either
There's a bit of a technique to this. Because it drys so quickly, you can't really do multiple paint strokes with the brush. So get it right the first time, otherwise you'll end up with ridges and smudges. I find that I need two coats to really get a solid color. After 10 minutes, the polish is "dry" but notably soft, almost tacky, to the touch. The polish is easily dented at this stage. I use my UV light to speed up the process, although it isn't really necessary. I wait about 30 minutes before I apply the second coat and another 30 minutes before applying the top coat. Again, don't brush too hard as the polish underneath is still somewhat tacky. The paint lasts about 6 days for me before it begins to chip at the edges. But it's much easier to do and takes a lot less time than traditional gel polishes. Overall I'd say that I am satisfied with my purchase and I plan to buy another color. ... show more

I have tried several brands, and this system is the best no-light gel polish. I have been using this product for 6 months, and I switch my nail color every two weeks. I have not had a single chip in my polish. It is just as good (or better) than salon polishes. I apply 2-3 coats of color and 2 coats of the matte or shiny topcoat, allowing dry time between each coat. Yes, this takes a little extra time...but it’s worth it for perfect nails and saving $$$ by not going to the salon.     • Over-priced ut worth the money. Next time I'll buy it at Walmart!
After I bought this product for over $17 I was in Walmart and noticed that their regular price was $7.99 and it was on sale for $6.99. I purchased one in Walmart and then Amazon's order arrived a few days later. Now I have two but I wasn't happy spending twice as much for the Amazon Gel--same exact product. I do like it however and have tried it out several ways so I couldn't determine if it was long lasting. I was able to put a color (not the Miracle Gel) under the Gel application and it worked fine. One nail chipped but I might have been in too much of a hurry to apply the Gel and the color might not have been set. Then I removed all the color and just put on several coats of the Gel alone. I liked it! My nails stayed smooth and shiny and they've been this way for several days now. I bought French white polish and next I'm going to try a French manicure with the Gel covering it. However, the plain clear look works very well and I'm not in any hurry to remove it. Oh, BTW, it does come off with regular nail polish remover. ... show more
