Craypas jumbo junior artist assorted color oil pastel set. Craypas family is ideally suited to compliment technique and expression development from childhood through high school, college, and into the professional level. Young artists blossom with creamy, smooth color that they can smear, blend, dot, overlap and mix. They can learn how to hold a stick to achieve different strokes – either as a pencil, clenched in a fist or on its side. Scratch and stencil art are possible in addition to working with water color over variety. Creativity and interest are enhanced with materials that encourage exploration and expression. Meets astm and acmi nontoxicity standard ap seal. No use of treenut oils, soy, latex, wheat, oat, barley, animal oils or waxes, dairy, casein, or egg ingredients. Will not peel, crack or flake, and are easily blendable. Oil paint effects, overlaying color, and a variety of effects can be experienced. Applicable for creative drawing, lettering and signage, scratch art and dot art, wall art and stenciling art, cards and craft projects. Technical qualities are capable of creating oil paint effects, easy to blend and consistent color hue within sets for nontoxicity, not recommended for use on fabrics intended to be washed, on food service or ceramics that are washed, and not evaluated for cosmetic use on skin. Amazing price for great quality/art material. Usually art materials are EXPENSIVE. I’m an art student in college. As a senior, I’ve spent my fair share on art supplies. These were the cheapest I have ever paid for and you get so many!! I ordered the set of 50. I wanted to order the original brand my dad had that I saw around the house and used growing up. Unfortunately, I couldn't find that box when I came home for Thanksgiving break. I drove back to school Sunday night and had class the very next morning. I finished my line drawing that morning and knew I would need to start coloring during my next class, which was Wednesday. I was able to get these with next day delivery (orders Monday during class, came Tuesday). FYI: I looked at a couple of pages of oil pastels and these were my ultimate choice for these reasons: 1. cheap cost but good quality; 2. Labeled as “Amazon’s choice;” 3. MOST importantly, it has the option for next day delivery which was not expensive at all. Most other sellers did not give that option. To digress, most online stores that say “next day delivery” charge like, a gazillion dollars. This was just a few extra dollars for next day. I wish they were a little bigger because after using one day on very large drawing almost half of one black stick is already gone. Plus side is that they provide 2 blacks and 2 whites! I’m deducting 2 stars from this review because unless you wrap the box in a tight rubber band, the cover will come off and you will find oil pastels spilt over in your backpack. I knew I should have rubberband it when I put it vertically in my pack pack, but I didn’t have an extra one. I am usually very careful (using ziplock bags and rubber bands on everything-pastel boxes, markers, pencils). I thought it would be okay just for the 10 minute walk to class. It was only when I went to move my backpack during class that I forgot and the thing spilt over. Luckily, I saw it right after it happened and they weren’t touching my backpack, they were still wedges between the box bottom and it’s lid. I was able to press the two pieces together and lift everything up in one fell swoop. ... show more

I've used this product before many years ago and found it easy to blend in creating a piece of art on black paper. What product I have left unfortunately over the years dried out making it hard to use. A new box was an ideal purchase since I had enjoyed using the product before.
