  • took it out on a very windy but also very hot & sunny day
This umbrella lived up to windproof on a very windy day. It was not raining at that time, but I was using it to block the sun. Worked well :)

  • Seems sturdy, but it’s hard to close
I haven’t had a chance to try it out in the rain yet, but I think it’s a good umbrella. The design is interesting, with openings for air but not rain to get through. I’m hoping that this will make it less likely to turn inside out in strong winds. It’s not as small when collapsed as other umbrellas I’ve had, but I think it’s a bigger umbrella overall, which is not a bad thing. The button opened the umbrella fine, but I had some problems trying to close it. I had to go back to the description to see that it “has a one-click automatic open/close button”. The button has two arrows on it, so I didn’t know if I was supposed to push one end of it to open the umbrella and the other end to close it, but apparently the two arrows are intended to tell you that it opens and closes the umbrella, not that the two ends of the button are separate controls. I have never had an umbrella that closes with a button rather than manually pushing it back down toward the handle. Well, after I opened the umbrella, when I pushed the button again to close it, the canopy folded up, but the umbrella did not close: the shaft was still fully extended. I tried to push the folded canopy back down toward the handle, but when I let go, it just sprang back up to the full length of the shaft again. I tried various approaches, but it would slide right back up again. After several attempts, I managed to get it to stay down, but I am not sure what I did to finally get it to work, except that I think I needed to push it down with both hands. I will say that it took quite a bit of strength. I’ve never had to work so hard to close an umbrella before, and it feels like it strains my shoulder to do it. I don’t know whether the dual-function button has anything to do with it, but I think I’d prefer that a mechanism like most umbrellas I’ve had before, where the button just opens the umbrella, and then it’s easy to manually collapse the canopy and slide it back down to a locking position. ... show more

  • Love these auto-open, auto-close umbrellas!
The media could not be loaded. I never have trouble fining a use for these collapsible umbrellas and this is the first I've had that not only opens fully at the touch of a button, but collapses when the button is pressed a second time. It folds down neatly and fits easily into the provided sleeve for sleek storage. The only thing that I would prefer is if it didn't have a prominent logo for Sail Canada on one side, but other than that, it's a perfect umbrella. ... show more

  • Basic black umbrella
I like the Sail Canada logo on the umbrella, but otherwise it's just a plain black umbrella with a standard open and close function. The grip is for small hands but it's comfortable. The umbrella doesn't close tightly enough to easily slide the umbrella case over it, but that's a minor flaw.

  • Lightweight and Sturdy: Exceptional Quality at an Affordable Price
This umbrella is absolutely fantastic! Firstly, it's incredibly lightweight, making it a breeze to carry around without any added burden. What sets it apart is its remarkable durability – this umbrella stands strong even in windy and rainy conditions, providing impressive stability. The one-click automatic close and open button adds a level of convenience that I find truly practical. Additionally, its collapsible design makes it easy to stow away, making it perfect for office use, travel, or daily activities. Considering its robust build and lightweight nature, the price point is already remarkable. I'm personally very satisfied with it and highly recommend it to everyone! ... show more

  • Hard to close
There a few issues I have with this umbrella. First and foremost, it is very difficult to close. I have another automatic open and close umbrella that is very easy to close. Pushing the telescoping pole down to get it back into its original, compact size is not fun, especially when it's all wet. Secondly, there are slits in the top of the umbrella. Other reviewers have said they believe its so that the wind doesn't make it fold outward, but after day 2 of using it I had water dripping down on me while I was using it to shield myself from said water. Maybe it would work fine in light rain, but I live in Tennessee where there's often a complete downpour. Lastly, the product page advertises the pouch it comes in as if it's meant to be used to carry the umbrella around. After opening the umbrella and closing it there was no way it was going to fit back inside the pouch it came in. I think my next umbrella will be the standard, compact, automatic umbrella you can find at Walmart. Not impressed with this one at all. ... show more

  • Works Like a Dream
This is a handy umbrella that is strong and sturdy. It's a workhorse - it seems quite durable and better than other small umbrellas I've had. This opens and closes very well, extremely strongly. I like the shape, it covers a lot of space even though it's a compact size when folded. It's easy to use and it works great in windy conditions. The handle is nice - it's coated and feels something like a sports material and it is good to grasp. It is simple to close small enough to fit perfectly into the holder. ... show more
