This is an emergency glass breaker and seat belt cutter to be used in the case of a likely serious car accident where severe damage to the car and/or personal injury to the driver has occurred. I'm not going to test use it, but here are my impressions so far...... I would have expected the item to come with some sort of instructions on how to use it, but there are none. Presumably, one takes off the cap and pushes down to engage a pointed glass breaker, but the breaker point is not visible (just a dark hole). So, how to use this device is not apparent. Also, it is not clear whether this device is a one-time-use item, or if it can be reset and reused (and, if so, how?). Again, instructions are needed. The item itself is lighter in weight and smaller (about 5") than I expected, which is not necessarily a problem. It seems well constructed and comes with a snap-in bracket that can be secured to the car interior with a 3M adhesive patch.

This neat gadget could save your life or love ones！ Good price and well made. anti-slip sticker has been proven to increase friction. It is also a very good idea. I can also stick it on one end to mark it, so that I can quickly identify where the safety hammer is in an emergency, which is better than using nail polish or Markers are so much better for marking. The glass samples is a GREAT selling point as you really don't know it's going to work if you can't try it out first - so kudos who thought of this!

Initially, I thought there were no silicone patches. They were not in the product box. They were in the package containing the 3 hammers. The unit is small and lightweight. I think it would satisfactorily break the glass—but it seems to be a one-use product. I tested one and it has not "reset". So, I won't test the other two.

This unit has a nice, protected seatbelt cutter that will be easy to use. Remove the end cap that has the strap and you will see that the sharp blade is embedded and surrounded by its case which prevents the blade from being used to stab anything. To cut a seatbelt, the 2 blade protection prongs is positioned on each side of the belt. Then pushed the unit and the blade will cut the belt. The glass breaker is at the other end. Remove its cap, put the breaker against the window, and press hard. That will cause internal pressure which will send the hidden breaker bit's point forward at a high speed and with enough force to shatter the glass. It resets itself which makes it usable for all windows in the car. The included holder should be used to position the unit where it won't roll around or otherwise get lost among other stuff.

I didn't try the included thick round glass they give you in each package, but I did try it on a small thick resin table and when I pushed it down far enough it went SNAP and put a small pointy dent in the table so it shouldn't have any problem blowing out a typical door window in any car. Also has the seat belt cutter built into the other end and it's small and light so easy to stash anywhere you'll be able to reach quickly if your in a situation where your trapped in your car and can't open a door to get out. They also include some sticky velcro dots that should work to mount these in a spot that they will properly stick to. Figured these might be a life saver when I saw them being offered and picked up the two pack. You do have to keep pushing till the ram thing triggers with a snap so it should never accidentally hurt anyone.

I've read about these tools and thought that I ought to have one in the car in the unlikely event that I become trapped underwater in my car or the slightly more likely event that my car flips over and I need to break the glass to extricate myself. Included in the box is the tool itself, several rubber stickers to attach to the tool to provide better grip, a clip that attaches to an easily accessible spot on the interior of the car and a sample piece of glass to test with. There are instructions on the back of the box. They are written by someone who apparently has a limited familiarity with written English and have a rather hilarious typo (use your 'head' to press the tool against the four corners of the window - should be hand). One end of the tool has the glass breaking punch, the other the seat belt cutter. Pretty straightforward. Would I have the wherewithal to figure it out in the heat of the moment? I can't say. But, it is certainly much, much better than having nothing. Reasonably priced and a good safety addition to everyone's vehicle
