This is a lovely area rug with a nice weave and fiber content and an acceptable "weight" . It should have a carpet pad to remain in place. I would have rated this rug 5 stars however, the weave is alittle more susceptible to damage than expected. There have been a few "catches" in the weave that were inadvertently created by dog-visitors. So far, the small loops have not come apart and the rug continues look great. The first rug I got was a completely different color and size so I had to send it back and wait another 2 weeks to get the rug I ordered. Once I got what I ordered the color was perfect but the rug slides around a lot on wood floors. Used the 7ft runners to cover my stairs. I had bought another rug but it wasn't playable enough. This flatweave was perfect for lining my steps. Its nice and soft but not too slippery for the stairs. I like the two sides are different too for a different look.

I wanted a cotton rug and they are so hard to find. This one is soft but without a pad underneath it shifts and moves so much on the floor it is pretty much worthless. I was afraid it would slip out from under me. Once I had the thick pad it stayed in place. I am not sure how it would work for anyone without a thick pad. The smell. Wow. I expected it because it is cotton. There was even a note in the rug from the company...man oh man, it lasted for a month. I coughed non stop. It isn't chemically, just "textile" fiber smell. We have had this rug for ~2 years and I'd say it has held well, except there are pulls EVERYWHERE. There are so many pulls in the fabric I have to go through with scissors every once in awhile and trim it. On the flip side, it's easy to clean, we have two dogs and it still looks good. Also keep in mind this is a rug you'll not want to lay on. More decorative than comfortable. ... show more

I was looking for a polished looking, cotton rug that was washable, even though I can't wash these in the washer. I dislike those rag rugs as I think they look, well, raggedy. These ones are perfect. I love the versatile and neutral pattern. The quality is great for the price. Thank you, Safavieh.

I love the look of this rug. I’ve had it for two months now. It is very thin and is never 100% unwrinkled. It is also easily stretched. I would not recommend it for a high traffic area.
