Very solid and nice looking. Purchased for dorm room with raised bed, since it's taller than most side tables. The seagrass drawers looked fine but had a very strong odor. We removed them and used those sections as shelves instead, but there was not solid wood between the drawers. It was just a frame around the edges. We cut boards to fit on top of the frames in each section to make the shelves.

Comes assembled! Looks very nice, they don’t look cheap. Have been using for a few months, no scratches, the baskets hold more than you would think by looking at them. Sturdy and fits in a small space between couch and recliner. Cost effective and very functional

Had two matching night stands for yrs, so treated myself to this larger one. Never had any issues with the baskets, just be careful pulling them out. Came fully assembled and no smell which is Big plus for my sensitive sinuses.

This product came already assembled. Sturdy, nice addition to my room. Other reviews almost discouraged me saying it was an odor in the baskets and wobbly. Not in my experience.

The product reeks. I have explained to Safavieh I am trying to salvage the wood part of their product. I have varnished all the unvarnished inside wood. I previously tried wiping down with vinegar, sprinkling with baking soda, setting out in the sun. It has bn two days since I varnished - still smells - going to set out in sun again today. The baskets had to be trashed immediately. Even though loaded with desiccant packets the baskets arrived wet to the touch and even after sitting out in sun and allowing to dry they reeked more than the wood structure. I have asked safavieh for replacement baskets and they asked for the order number and date of purchase again - stated they would respond in 72 hours and still have not. Their verbiage appears to blame Amazon as they state "the warranty is up to the vendor of purchase." I will not purchase a Safavieh product ever again.

Ordered two of these because I liked the design and height. When they arrived, one was fine, the other was stained with yellow on the front and parts of the sides (pics 2, 3, 4). Believe me when I say it looks worst than in photos. I returned that one to Amazon and they quickly sent a replacement that just arrived. This had minimal staining but the knob is scratched up and the drawer and front have black marks (pic 1). I’m so disappointed, I don’t know what to do at this point. I did try cleaning it before I took the photo. Also, it looks like it may have been a return (?). Bottom line, very nice design, decent build, but paint is awful and appears to be one haphazard coat (some places have no paint). I’ll either return (again) or, I don’t know, repaint them both?!! I’d go with something else if I were you.

Update 1/7/22: Problem definitely solved by spraying baskets (only) with Shellac mentioned below. Update 12/22: I’m very happy with the results from spraying the baskets with 3 coats of the Shellac. Easy enough and solved the problem, so I’ll be keeping the item as it looks good and best yet I didn’t have to put it together. Wow I don’t know what happened to these pieces but after a few hours in my home, the baskets had to be removed as they stunk up my whole house. They do appear to possibly have spots of mold on them. Shame on them for not doing the right thing and rectifying the problem after all this time. Or at least lowering the price. I really like this piece and the baskets don’t look bad at all on mine but man… I kept the packaging in case but I think I found the solution. All you have to do is go to Home Depot and get a can of clear Zinssler spray Shellac. It seals in and blocks odor on bare wood and other such materials. You can also coat the interior of the shelf with it for blocking. I first sprayed the baskets outside with vinegar which kills mold and let dry. Today I sprayed each basket with the Shellac and I think that did the trick! I’m going to do a 2nd coat but so far I can barely smell that terrible odor. I even brought one inside to test for the night and so far so good. The Shellac even gives a nice sheen and protection to the baskets and they look much nicer. It might be good to shellac the inside of the cabinet and then paint over it to take care of any odor left there around where the baskets were sitting. The sides could have been painted a little better but it’s not really an issue, and it could easily be repainted, with a coat of shellac underneath to seal out any odor. So if you really like the piece then I’d say go for it, save the box, take the baskets out before bringing in the house so you can check them, and if necessary spray with vinegar solution and leave in the sun, then head to Home Depot (check the website for stock first). You can even wash the baskets after vinegar with Murphy Oil Soap and lightly scrub and rinse, before Shellac, but I didn’t do that part. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to keep it although I didn’t really need the extra work tbh.
