it appears darker than advertised, but that being said i don’t mind the uniqueness as i feel it still goes well in the room and brings it together like i had pictured. it definitely has a strong smell, like when you’d bring something home from the mall, that new smell, if you know what i mean, so i also don’t mind that, seemed to blend in within two days. it’s thick in a way i didn’t expect from an online rug nowadays, so the cushion is very functional for standing doing laundry like i hoped. it does have tufts of fabric sticking out but i think it adds to the charm. ... show more

    • Smelled Bad and damp when arrived.

Rug arrived wrapped and sealed but when opened and brought in room it felt damp and had an odor that was unbearable. We took it outside on the concrete driveway and let it sun for two days, sprinkled baking soda on it , sprayed white vinegar and water mixed on it and finally it was dried and the scent was bearable. This was not what we expected. It smelled like an old house that had been closed up for years. We didn’t want our home to smell that way. ... show more

Start maybe unfairly taken off because of my own judgement - the rug is well made, nice weight, feels good underfoot... but I got the red variegated and I really hate the color. It's a lot brighter and the black makes the colors harder. In my earthy-toned room it just looks gaudy. Too much hassle to send it back, I'll give it to somebody who has the right sort of room for it. I think I'd have liked it a lot just in the tan. ... show more
