I purchased the 8'3" x 11' sage and gold rug. Other reviewers are not exaggerating regarding the shedding. So far I have filled my vacuum canister 5 times. The rug quality is good, but the pattern is not as crisp and the colors are not as vivid as pictured online. I'm satisfied with the purchase, I just wish the colors were as advertised. I downsized the rug in my studio. I did not want one that I needed to lift furniture on. This one fit the middle space and the furniture hugs the edges. Perfect. I did have to roll up the old one and haul it out and it was BIG. I am so glad I went a bit smaller nothing but good. I bought 2 runners and two 5x8 rugs. The pattern is slightly different in each one and we love it. The colors are also slightly different but the same in that the gold is more prevalent in one and the sage in the next. They compliment each other beautifully. They shed when vacuumed the first few times, but didn’t shed on the surrounding carpet. Well worth the price. I would but these again in a heartbeat. ... show more

    • BEWARE Color does not match the pictures
Like many that have already commented on the color of the product, the color is VASTLY different to the real color you get. The rich golds and burgundy/rose wine color in the posted pictures is so way off. The yellow is more of a mustard-brown color and the burgundy is a reddish brown. Not anywhere near the voluptuous colors depicted in the pictures. This is more of a basement, "I don't really care color". Also, make sure you vacuum your carpet 3-4 times as the residue is extreme! I have a Dyson and it took me 3 full-bin slow vacuums to get most of the excess off the carpet. All this being said, it is a bathroom runner in the basement and way too much hassle to return - but if I could repack it and return, I would! I don't like being deceived by the picture which is so enormously off it's real-world look and usually the main reason to purchase. EDIT: 2 years in and the carpet will not stop shedding. ... show more

I was extremely disappointed when I open the package a saw the color of my rug! I wanted the colors as pictured and what I got was a mostly dark green rug with just a hint of the orange/gold ...and burgundy! Geez, I hate burgundy.

The photo was what drew me in. Unfortunately, the actual rug looks only vaguely like the photo. While the photo depicts bright, fall colors with an intricate, oriental design, the actual rug is rather crudely designed and features bland colors. I’m disappointed in Safavieh.
