Description

The 6360 ALS /SLS Level III Retention duty holsters are sturdy, lightweight, and provide an extra measure of security while on patrol. The ALS (Automatic Locking System) builds on the foundation of the SLS (Self Locking System) to offer Level III Retention. The SLS rotating hood closure allows for a smoother, single-motion draw, and greater protection against attempted weapon takeaways. Simply depress the hood and push forward to release. The ALS system automatically secures the weapon once holstered, and keeps it that way until released via the thumb lever. The release is achieved in an intuitive motion as the weapon is drawn.

Frequently asked questions

A Level 3 Retention Duty Holster, such as the Safariland 6360 model, is designed with multiple security mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access or removal of a firearm. These mechanisms typically include the ALS (Automatic Locking System) and SLS (Self Locking System), requiring multiple actions to release the weapon, hence providing a higher level of security and protection against weapon takeaways.

The ALS (Automatic Locking System) secures the weapon once holstered by automatically engaging a lock on the weapon's ejection port area. The SLS (Self Locking System) is an additional rotating hood that blocks attempts to withdraw the firearm. To draw the weapon, an officer needs to deactivate both mechanisms, usually with a thumb release for ALS and a forward rotating motion for the SLS hood.

Yes, the specific model mentioned is for right-handed users, as 'Right Hand' in the product title indicates the orientation. Safariland typically manufactures corresponding left-hand models with similar features for left-handed officers.

Should I Buy It?

If you are looking for a high-quality holster with secure features and have a compatible Glock model with the appropriate light, this could be a great pick. However, if your weapon setup isn’t a guaranteed fit or if you are budget-conscious, you may want to consider other options or verify compatibility before purchasing.

  • Awesome holster, great balance between speed, security and quality.
Color: Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
I bought this as my duty holster for my gen 4 Glock 19. The action to remove the SLS and ALS retention is VERY natural feeling. As you come down on the hood, you almost naturally push it forward to disengage (so that feels like one step, not two) and then as you bring your thumb back to establish your grip, the ALS button gets released almost second nature. I do find that the Serpa 3 draw is a little faster being that you can essentially release both retentions at the same time, but this holster just feels very smooth in the draw even if it is a few milliseconds slower. During qualifying, I noticed that a lot of other guys with rock out holsters were able to get their guns out faster than me (someone well practiced with a rock-out can draw seriously fast), however I seemed to be getting my shots off on target faster. I think this possibly could be due to the fact that the smooth, natural feeling draw of the holster allows you to establish your grip better right out of the holster and the straight up draw makes it easier to get the gun on target. Just my theory anyway. Although I feel like the Serpa 3 may be a better draw, the quality of this holster feels great and some of the features are really nice. The hood guard is a great feature and has never gotten in my way like I thought it would. The SLS hood and ALS seem like they'd be nearly impossible for someone to disengage whereas the serpa button like it could be accidentally disengaged by a grabby perp much easier. Overall, out of all of the holsters I have seen, I think this is the most secure you can find. Only disadvantages I have are 1) it does not come with an adjustable paddle, meaning it can't be canted without buying additional paddles. 2) it doesn't seem very easy to use this as a level 1 holster in a high threat time (meaning snap the hood forward if you feel like you may have to draw so you only need to use the ALS button). I say this because the ALS button is a little tricky to find unless you are snapping the hood forwards first. The hood almost guides you right to the ALS button, so trying to go right for the button without the hood up hasn't worked well for me...though I haven't practiced much. However, if you really thought you may have to draw, you'd likely be keeping your hand ON your weapon, in which case releasing the hood and keeping your finger on the ALS button would be very easy and make for a near instant draw. The ALS button is much harder to see/get to for second party than the Serpa's big side button, so if your first level of retention is off and somebody DOES try to take your weapon, I'd feel MUCH safer with the 6360. FYI I think the high rise paddle would make it a bit more comfortable in the car and easier to rest your arm on the gun while standing to secure your weapon, but i'm not sure how it would affect the draw. ... show more

  • King of retention.
Color: Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
Flawless. Excellent quality. The easy draw is the best I've seen. Period. I work alone in bad areas of Phoenix and I fear being overpowered by numerous men and having my own weapon used on me. With this holster it won't happen. I have not had one person be able to pull my gun and a lot of people have tried. It's fun to watch them try in gun classes. You use a thumb and finger to draw. The easy draw puts my fingers exactly where they need to be to fire it. Brilliant! ... show more

  • Product description for fitment is wrong.
Color: Plain Black Size: Glock 17, 22, 31, with light
This does not fit a Glock Model 22 5th Gen with Streamlight TLR 1 weapon light. At all, not even close. Weapon will not fit even when the light was removed. Holster is great. Product description, not so much!!

  • Amazing Holster!
Color: Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
Amazing holster! Works great with my glock 23 gen 4. The Universal Belt Loop (UBL) it comes with fits 2 - 2.25 inch duty belts, so if you want this on a smaller belt u can buy an adapter. Safariland's website sells these adapters for about $6 plus shipping and it's cheaper to order those there. Retention works great and very comfortable to wear. ... show more

  • Good holster
Color: Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
This is a great holster meant to keep your gun out of the hands of someone who doesn’t know how to use it. With enough practice you will be able to draw just as fast as a lvl 1 holster

  • Perfect ride height
Color: Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
This is what you need for a level 3 holster. Its heavy which tells me it's well made and if you fall on it or drop it, it will protect your firearm. One small thing that I will come and update in a few months after I've used it some. The thumb break for the top strap is about a quarter inch to the left of the thumb break to remove the firearm. In a fast draw situation, I've found I've had to "find" the lower thumb break. It seems like your thumb should naturally fall on the lower thumb break after you undo the strap. May just need to get used to it. Will update in a few months. ... show more
