My last two Ryobi batteries got struck with the dreaded red flashing light of death after not a ton of use honestly...fingers crossed third times the charm. I'm reticient on buying a non-Ryobi battery (exactly what Ryobi wants I presume), but if this one prematurely dies I may start trying off-brand batteries. But for now this one is working great but only just bought it a month ago. EV mowers apparently trade the need for buying gasoline and oil changes for batteries that cost half of what the mower itself costs. This is physically larger than the reconditioned 5ah that came with the mower, it fits but the lid doesn't close on the compartment.

The battery works very well so far - it's just about a half inch longer than the original one, so I cannot fully close the plastic battery cover on the mower. Not a huge deal, and my lawn isn't all that big. Just not exactly the perfect replacement (I'd give it a 4.5 if Amazon allowed me). Price was so much better than at big chain stores. ... show more

    • Good battery.
The battery is a replacement for another battery that failed. The battery that failed is not Ryobi. My original Ryobi battery is still going strong. In a push mower this battery lasts about 30 minutes. so you need at least two.

    • Doesn't last very long per charge.
This is not the same as seen on the web sight. It is bigger than the original 5ah battery that came with the mower when I bought it and although it does fit in the slot, it is longer and the door to the battery compartment won't close all the way. Also, this battery does not last near as long as my first 5ah battery that came with my mower. Even the older one which is almost 5 years older, still runs longer than this one. This battery is near total junk. I cannot recommend it to anyone. I WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE!!!! ... show more
