UPDATE (I was a little harsh in my initial review): This is my first Ryobi tool and I'm now satisfied with it... but it does have some issues. I had what I thought were not unreasonable expectations - I mean at the price I got it for, I didn't expect it to be something I'd be making cabinets with. It has adequate power, and by that I mean you'll be fine with dimensional 1x wood, even if it's hardwood, and it comes with all you'd expect a table saw to come with. It's lightweight, which is what I was looking for, so 5-Stars there. Two batteries will last for most any non-production job, so 5-Stars there. The irritating part is the fence, miter, and miter track. When I unboxed, assembled and gave the saw a once over, I found the blade to be perfectly aligned with the blade. No adjustments necessary. Then I tried the fence using the instructions in the manual and it sort of works, but was misaligned and not front to back was parallel to the blade. After playing with the adjustments, I got it spot on. I then moved on to the miter gauge... yeah, junk. I wobbles side to side in the track by about 24 mils side to side. Simply no way to get an acceptable square cut or even a simple 45 degree cut. Fine for rough construction work, but not if you are trying to make anything. I tossed it and built a sled and a second sled to make accurate angle cuts. That's where I ran into the problem with the miter track. The saw tabletop and miter track are coasted in some sort of high wear coating... kind of like a powder coating on steroids. All good, except that it is not applied evenly in the track. You build a sled to get accurate, repeatable cuts and to do that, you cut a runner to fit in the miter slot. Using a digital caliper I measured the width of the slot carefully, then triple checked my measurement. I cut the runner just a tad wider, then carefully trimmed it a few mils at a time and snuck up on a perfect fit that slid in and didn't wobble side to side... at all. Just the perfect runner. Then I used the fence, which was perfectly aligned to the blade and glued the runner to the sled. All good.... until I slid the sled forward and at about 6 inches from front the front of the saw, it started to bind. I figured I'd made a mistake when I cut the runner. Nope, check it front to back with my calipers and I was spot-on It was then that I realized it ahd to be the slot in the table. Using my calipers I measured the slot every inch front to back and sure enough, at about 6" in, the track narrowed by a couple mils. I ended up very carefully and slowly filing off a bit of the coating from 6 inches in all the way to the back of the track, Tested the runner, filed a bit more and did that 4 times until the track read the exact same front to back. Minus 1-Star for all that, and I now have a cordless table saw that will compete with any table saw for accuracy. So, all-in-all, for the convenience of having a battery powered, lightweight table saw at a good price, this, if you take your time in setup, is a great little buy. For sure not perfect, but you can make it as perfect as you need. After fiddling with the adjustment on the fence, I got it within a 32nd front to back, but to get it dead on for quick accurate rip jobs is near impossible. Yeah, I think 1/32 is not acceptable and you can get it right on the mark, but it takes time and when you lock the fence down, it wants to go right back to being a 32nd out. Patience is they key. Worse yet is the miter gauge. The t-channel is non standard size and it is so loose it shifts side to side by about 20 mils, plus the gauge rocks side to side. Not even close to acceptable, and as I said, I couldn't find an after market that would fit the t-channel. I did come up with a couple of solutions. To solve the side-to-side wiggle, I got a roll of 10 mil thick UHMW polyethylene tape and applied a strip to both sides of the bar. That tightened it right up - no more shifting side-to-side. Then, after studying the plastic housing of the gauge I noticed where the gauge part fits screws onto the bar, there was a protrusion and I filed that off. Now it doesn't rock. Basically, if you are looking for accuracy, you're not going to get it without a bit of work. Dust collection is acceptable and blade adjustments are easy, plus like I said it's, lightweight and of course, there is the convenience of being corded. All-in-all, I'd say it's, at the price, an okay table saw, just be prepared for an extended setup period. ... show more

    • Light and portable, good for fast jobs. Doing precision cuts requires much fiddling.
Debated between a 3 and a 4 star rating. 18v saw so you're not going to be able to push your feed at all. Just cut at it's speed. You need to have at least a couple of the larger batteries. The standard ones go flat real fast. It is meant to be a contractor portable saw so all measurements and cut angles are approximate without you verifying everything. It is possible to do precision cuts but you have to manually verify everything because the fence and protractor are too loosey. IT WILL NOT TAKE A DADO BLADE. Bad Ryobi. You have to read the fine print to learn that the arbor shaft is too short to take a dado. So I have to "whittle" all joiner cuts. ... show more
