It does switch your monitor, mouse, and keyboard from one computer to another. However, it is temperamental, The HDMI connection does carry both audio and video, you have to tweak computer settings. First impressions, I like it, It was a snap to set up. does exactly what is is supposed to do with one exception. The "hot" keys to switch from one computer to the next via the keyboard CTRL and 1&2 buttons does not work. With that said most people will want to hide all of the wires and the switch itself. The manual switch works great, but kind of awkward to reach when you have all of the wires hidden. If anyone knows how to get the "hot" keys to work, please share. ... show more

Well built, but very limited. Makes for a great KVM for switch back and forth between low powered machines, like a Raspberry Pi.

The switch does everything very well. It deserves a 5 on its own. The problem is with the documentation which deserves a 1. If you can read the docs, you need to understand what they are trying to say. The print is so small that I had to put it on a scanner and magnify the result, and then it still took me two days to figure out the setup. Between the magnified docs, the Amazon write-up and the pictures on Amazon, I was finally able to figure out what to do. With that done, the switch is super, and does everything I hoped it would do - that is switch between two computers with one mouse, one keyboard and one monitor.
