Once in position they hold tight. They can be a little tough to get in position as they tend to loosen a bit as you move them into position. Just be careful. Once in position, they are awesome.

There are other similar products on the market, but these are tried and true. And there’s a lot of bang for your buck. Hardly any tension in the internal spring of the rod = rods fall right back out of the window and cannot bear the weight of even sheer fabric. Lousy product and not up to Amazon's usual standards.

We put these in the back of our travel trailer refrigerator so the food wouldn't be against the back and freeze the food, works great. Can also be used in the front when you need to keep the food stable when traveling.
