Description

Rust-Oleum Concrete Preparation Anti-Skid Additive is the easy way to and a slip-resistant grip to floor coatings during application. Simply mix into coating to be used and then apply as per directions. Additive is appropriate for use on both interior and exterior floorings. I strongly advise you mixed this material in with your epoxy or polyurethane for the floor because you can’t toss it in the air like the paint chips because when it hits the surface, it makes a very strange, uneven and not very appealing surface dimples, whereas if you mix it in with the material, then roll it on the floor it looks great and works great, and doesn’t really mess up the glossiness of the surface ... show more

    • Good product, however, you need a salt shaker type to spread evenly.

This product works great but you would need to get 1, the spike shoes 2, a method that would allow for even spread. You need the spike shoes to be able to put your paint on the entire section before spreading. The shoes will allow you to walk on the pain. #2 you would need to empty a salt shaker and use that to spread it. if not spread evenly the pain will deform and you will have spots that would be too rough. ... show more

I used this mixed in the final coat of paint for a cement shower floor. It worked very well in providing a nonslip surface. I used about double the suggested amount which worked very well for me.

I think these micro-sized chips look far better than the larger-size chips (see photo). Pro tip: get container and drill 1/4-inch holes in the top of it to make kind of a large pepper shaker to dispense the chips. That way, you're able to get a very even distribution of chips and carefully add to any light spots. I added a bunch at the kitchen door for traction but that was entirely unnecessary - the chips add enough texture even with only a light coating as shown. I used this in conjunction with another product from the same manufacturer. I noticed that all packets regardless of fl oz have the same instructions: "One 3.4 oz package treats up to 1 gallon of coating." So if you have a packet with double the amount, it's the same 1 gallon use instruction? Can't say I noticed any slip reduction. Also it's important to add this to your last coat of epoxy paint, as per instructions. The product is just ok. You will notice in the US, this is a frequently returned item.
