Great product, I have read a few bad reviews about coverage and the cans not being full, so I decided to write this. I ordered 8 cans and all worked flawlessly. These are high pressure paint cans so they do put out a lot of paint very quickly. My advice is start painting further back then you would with normal spray paint and to prime & paint whatever you are painting with a like color base coat first, as the can recommends. Okay. The technology behind this paint was well-conceived. And, if I might say so myself, my “painted project” turned out looking pretty cool. But (and it was a big butt, Bertha) I didn’t realize we would have to sell our home and take out a second mortgage, in order to fund my latest spray-painted project. Holy guacamole! I used up 15 cans of this spray paint (FIFTEEN is a really BIG number in my spray-painters-head) to complete my project. Why? Well because it appears that a good portion of this “textured paint” falls to the ground. And quickly! Seriously speaking (as if I could speak to the otherwise) thirty seconds into a brand new, TOTALLY shaken up can, and my spray-painting moments were over, leaving me to reach for still another can (and another, and another, and another, etc). I am giving this product two stars, because my final product does appear kinda/sorta cool-looking. But, I will refrain from ever buying into this product like EVER AGAIN, because basically we cannot afford a 3rd mortgage. ... show more

I've used previous types like this so I kinda knew what to expect. This isn't like normal spray paint at all. It's way thicker, so it comes in weird, requires more paint to finish a project. That's just the nature of this type, it has texture to. Used this for some 3d printed stuff to give a stone look. It also stinks way more than normal spray paint. If you're doing big projects expect to buy double than what you would normally use at least. I have found that these don't sit well for months. They get clogged and just won't spray anymore. ... show more

I can not possibly tell you how happy I was to come here and read all of the other reviews on this spray paint. When I was beginning to use can #4 on a really basic chair, that should have taken one can, I seriously thought I was starting to lose my mind. The other reviews that mention that you get about 30 seconds of streaming paint before the can is out are not exaggerating. I'm going on 10 cans for 2 really basic outdoor chairs. I like the result and where I assume it's headed, but I've definitely invested more money in the spray paint than in the second-hand chairs. Rustoleum REALLY needs to improve this product and also provide guidance on how much square footage you can expect a can to cover. Additionally, I think due to the texture, I've spent significant time fidgeting with the nozzles. They get clogged, you have to take them off and reinsert, over and over. Also, you have to press the nozzle significantly harder. It's not at all an easy to use product. Like everyone else says, I probably will be happy with the end product, but given the amount of time, paint and money, I could have been just as happy with a standard spray paint. ... show more

My old, faded, but very sturdy deck chair has new life. This product was just what I wanted for easily spraying the sturdy metal chair back to “new.” With the addition of a new cushion this was a quick conversion. The paint went on easily. I love the texture and the brown color with bronze highlights. I bought, and used, 4 cans of product for this project. The last can isn’t quite empty, so I have touch-up, if needed. ... show more

    • Convert black metal lawn and patio furniture to vers de gris (a semi-textured dark grey-green).
Covers well and leaves a very nice textured dark grey-green finish. One can covers less than might be expected, but the finished look is very good. People asked if we had bought new lawn furniture after we painted our old set.

I love these textured paints, which I use mainly to camouflage things (such as conduits and vents) on the brick facade of my house. (Once I even used them to create a replacement "brick" in a wall using cement and the paint. No one could tell that it wasn't just another brick in the wall.) These paints seem to be a bit hard to find other than on Amazon. My only complaint is that one can doesn't cover much area. I think that goes with the territory of it being a thick, gloppy paint to provide the textured finish. ... show more
