As the headline states, this mount is predrilled for mounting the winch and also has predrilled holes for mounting the mount itself, so it was very easy to use. The winch's hawse fairlead also bolted right to the predrilled holes on the mount. The steel is adequate for the job and has a good coat of paint. You may not be able to use on vehicles other than the Jeep1987-2006 Wrangler, but it's useful in other situations such as my trailer. I admit I balked at the cost. That's the only thing I didn't like about the Regcel mount.

The build is very sturdy and other than two issues would be great. First issue is the frame was bent on one handle mount point, the other issue is missing nut to secure all parts. I had some nuts and bolts from another project to use in place of missing parts. Really strong and supportive design.

I have the RUGCEL 13500 lb WINCH that I purchased for my trailer and was going to use a thick steel plate to mount it. The rope guide that comes with the winch does not actually mount to the winch, but this base is designed to mount the guide to. It is very sturdy and will securely hold the winch under heavy use and looks like it should have been included with the winch. It arrived much sooner than expected and is just what I was looking for. If I had seen the base earlier, I would have bought it then.

I needed to install a small winch in the bed of my truck to help pull my ATV into the bed. The winch is a small 2500 lbs winch so I need just a small plate. I purchased one from HF that was a little on the small side, with the winch install on the plate there wasn't enough material around the edges of winch to allow me to bolt it down to the bed of the truck easily. I found this plate and order it. This plate is bigger (about an extra 1" on each side) than the HF plate. This allows me to attach the winch and still have room around the winch to add bolts that will attach the plate to the truck bed. I actually used the HF plate on the underside of my bed to act as a backing plate for the upper plate.

It is very sturdy but it also claimed to be able to mount to my jeep and it does not. Rather than drill new holes. I simply purchased another mounting plate from rough country.
