Description

Named one of the Best Kid's Books of 2024 by Good Housekeeping! A debut picture book about a curious student who finds herself in trouble for talking in class—even though she just wants to share all that she’s learned. “Did you know that flamingos don’t have teeth?” Questions, facts, and dreams—Ruby René could talk for hours. Once she got going, it was hard for her to stop. It didn’t matter if it was history, science, or the lunch menu—Ruby René had so much to say! But when her teacher called home because she found her sharing distracting, Ruby vowed to keep quiet. Until . . . she finds the perfect outlet for her gift of gab. With charming text by debut author/educator Ashley Iman and colorful illustrations by Gladys Jose, Ruby René Had So Much to Say is a celebration of owning your voice, honing your skills, and turning challenges into opportunities. • Great children’s read!!
My book arrived today and I read it immediately. I saw the author on the local news and had to purchase this book. I too am and was extremely loquacious as a child and often was silenced. This book teaches methods to help children direct that energy while being creative without shunning. Thank you to the and the illustrator. ... show more

  • Relatable
Ruby René loves learning new facts, but she loves sharing them even more. The only problem is, all of her sharing is interrupting her teacher’s lesson. This book is so relatable for many students (and teachers!). Luckily, with the help of her principal, Ruby René finds the perfect solution that allows her to express herself in a productive way. Not only is this an entertaining story, it is also a great prompt for talking in the classroom. ... show more

  • Finding Delight in Learning & Sharing
Ruby Rene is an incredibly curious child who finds delight in learning and can’t help but share her exciting facts with others. But not everyone appreciates Ruby Rene’s eagerness….especially her teacher. That makes Ruby change from someone who HAS so much to say to someone who HAD so much to say as her voice was silenced. But a kind word from the principal, a gift from her father and an idea to help her embrace exactly who she is might not only help Ruby appreciate her own inquisitive nature, but might also help others do the same. This book is beautiful inside and out and shares a powerful message that adults, especially educators and caregivers, need to consider. It celebrates children in all their inquisitiveness and talkativeness and should be in every home and classroom. ... show more
