  • Perfect tray for busy mom's that want healthy kids!!!
Style Name: Party Platter
This is the perfect tray for a mom that wants healthy kids. Have you ever noticed if food is left out people will eat it no matter what it is??? At my house that is what happens. If it's on the counter everyone will come by and munch on it. So I decided to leave vegis and fruits "out." But every tray I've tried had issues. Round ones take up too much room in the fridge! I mean really a round item should be illegal to sell for a kitchen. So no round trays. And it needed a lid so I could cover it and put it in the fridge at night. I also wanted to use the lid as an ice cube tray holder to keep the food cool during the day. And this one is the only one I could find that met all those needs.it is truly perfect and a great price. I dare you to leave out a tray of vegis on you r counter and see you unconsciously nibbles on them during the day. Maybe even you will!!! ... show more

  • Bread lasts FOR EV ER
Style Name: Bread Keeper
Good grief - you can't even try to spoil bread with these things. Even more so when you put the bread in the fridge! Fits an entire loaf and a lil more in case you buy a loaf before you've eaten all your last up (even thick cut!)! It's big enough to pretty much fit most types of bread - save maybe the super wide ones! ... show more

  • Need for storing farm fresh whole eggs? Read this...
Style Name: Egg Keeper
There has been a lot of discussion between the item description of the Rubbermaid egg keeper, the questions being asked about them, and some of the answers given. I, like some of you, were wondering if this would be a worthwhile replacement for storing farm-fresh eggs in lieu of using the paper and/or styrofoam egg cartons we all repurpose from the store bought cartons we ask our family and friends to save for us. Well, it was worthwhile for me in my situation. I'll explain... I sell surplus eggs to friends and family and over the months have built up a surplus of 12 & 18 count cartons. These are what I was storing all of my eggs, for both personal use and for sale. I prefer to keep the really nice, well taken care of cartons for my personal use, but sometimes they're rotated in and out of the surplus I use for my customers. Long story short, other people don't always take good care of your property. The ones I let them borrow with the eggs I supply wear out over time, are abused, or are thrown away...you get the picture. The rubbermade containers are for me and me alone for storing my personal eggs and surplus eggs I plan on selling. My personal eggs are stored in the fridge in the rubbermade containers and the ones for sale are stored in the rubbermade container on the counter and then transferred to the repurposed cartons at the time of sale... BEST. INVESTMENT. EVER. I have 10 Red Sexlink hens that are 8 months old and lay anywhere from large to jumbo eggs. I don't know what some of the folks replying to some of the questions being asked are calling "jumbo", but to me, a "jumbo egg" is anywhere from 2.5 to 3 ounces. They're BIG. To set the record straight, 20 "jumbo" eggs (by my definition) WILL NOT fit in this container without being placed against other eggs, disrupting the way they sit in the molded "nesting divots", which causes the eggs to sit a little higher, therefore causing the lid to not close or not close properly. I'll add now that the container itself is as sturdy as any rubbermade container I've ever owned. Some say the lid is thinner, but it's not. It just seems more "flimsy" as some have stated due to the fact it's larger than the small storage container lids we're all used to. Bigger means "floppier", but to say they're "flimsy" would be an untruth. Anyway, back to stacking containers with jumbo eggs, you'll have issues stacking them more that 2 containers high without the risk of breakage and/or the stack being unstable and shaky. Everything up to a 2.5 ounce egg will fit perfectly. If I have a few jumbo eggs I merely adjust the location of the different size eggs to accommodate the placement of the jumbo eggs I get. Problem solved simple as that. I will say if you're one of the lucky ones who collect nothing but Jumbo eggs every morning, this may not be the right container for you. I'm including photos showing large and extra large eggs. They ALL fit nicely inside. REFRIGERATOR STORAGE: as you already know, they're are nesting divots for 20 eggs in each container. And due to the fact the eggs are housed laying on their side, the container is a little larger than an 18 count carton in both width and length. I don't have a tape measure handy or I'd measure both, but I'm posting photos that will better describe the size differences and help you determine if this is the right item to fit your needs. One of the things I found to be a plus about these containers is the lower profile. I can stack 4 containers in an area (height wise) that only three 18 count cartons will fit in, but the container is wider. The best way for me to describe it is, in my fridge, I can fit 8 Rubbermade containers in the same area I was squeezing in nine 18 count cartons, 160 eggs vs 162 eggs (in the favor of the cartons, of course). The main thing for ME being, I have 8 NICE, durable, and handy containers I'm keeping for my personal use. A plus side is they double for the whole "deviled egg" thing when the need arises. I haven't done that as of yet, but judging from the design, the cleanup doesn't look like it would be any worse than any other dish I own. I haven't researched this, but it may even be dishwasher safe. No matter how I looked at it, the cartons just don't match up to the dual purpose rubbermade containers. And as others have said, shop around. I won't disrespect Amazon by telling what I paid, but it wasn't the $10-$12 price tag you're looking at here. I'm giving this item 4 stars just due to the fact it should have been designed to hold 24 eggs. I hope this review helps. Troy 47/M/Tx ... show more

  • Problem Solver for those who live alone.
Style Name: Bread Keeper
I live alone and have long looked for something to solve the bread problem. Of course I need bread, but they don't sell it in single serving sizes so half of it goes to waste because it gets stale too fast. Not with this thing. It does a fabulous job keeping the bread sealed and ready to eat for sometimes beyond a month at a time (depending on the bread). I don't even have to take the bread out of the package I just slit the top of the bread bag and put the whole thing in there, cutting the bread bag as I use more bread. This way It doesn't need cleaned very often. 10/10 would buy again. ... show more

  • Does what it claims to do.Made for long skinny loaves.
Style Name: Bread Keeper
While works good to seal out air. Its made for long "skinny" loaves of bread which I dont buy and dont know anyone who does anymore. You can put the wide short loaf in there but the sides get a bit smooshed. I also will throw in a bag of opened pretzels so being long isnt a BAD thing. Wider would be much better though. You really have to check to see its sealed because the seal is tight. ... show more

  • I am impressed...
Style Name: Bread Keeper
It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be but I guess if you want to use it for a 2 lb loaf of bread this what you need! The plastic is thicker than I thought it would be and has some flexibility to it. The lid is thick as well and durable. You definitely get a good seal when you get the lid on tight. It takes a little bit of muscle to get in all the way and take it off. We will see in the summer months if it helps with preventing the bread to mold so quickly! ... show more

  • Great Container for "Standard" Sized Loaves
Style Name: Bread Keeper
I haven't used a bread "box/container" for most of my life. As I grew older, I also have eaten less bread on a daily basis. I do like "breakfast" sandwiches with fried eggs and a small piece of sausage once in a while. Not a big fan of English Muffins so I was left with bread in the loaf style. Since I don't use bread every day, I needed/wanted a container to help keep the bread fresh. I usually use a version of "whole wheat" which I prefer. I like some of the "wider" loaves available from numerous bread makers but they don't fit so well in the RubberMaid container I had decided to buy. No problem because there are some good examples of whole wheat with adequate amounts of fiber in "standard sized loaves"--less calories/slice this way as well. I have been using the RubberMaid bread container for several months. I live in a drier climate and have had no problems as of yet with the unit. In fact, I have been quite impressed with how long bread stays fresh in this container. So I really do--as of now--really like this product because of the great job it does keeping my bread fresh. ... show more
