Storage container was damaged during shipment. One of four containers was severely cracked. We did not return item to be replaced because we needed to pack our items quickly. We then proceeded to use the three other containers and decided to move forward and take the loss of money. The containers were not packed heavily. I went to pick up one of the good three remaining containers and the snap handle came off in my hand. It had only been snapped closed approximately three times. Sturdiness and durability certainly were not a feature with this product. We tried pushing, hammering, and shoving the snap handle into place with no success. I do not recommend this Rubbermaid product. We were very disappointed and not satisfied. The Sales Support Manager responded to my issue regarding my damaged tote. I called her using the telephone number supplied by Amazon. It took a several days for her to respond with an email telling me that I would receive a Visa gift card to replace my damaged tote. We are very happy that Rubbermaid stood behind their product because we always chose their company as a first choice when purchasing this type of product. These containers are ok. The bottoms are sturdy. The lids are a bit flimsy, and they don't lock as stated. They do close, but if you pick up the container without holding the lid, it will sometimes come loose. Maybe it's just my set, but that's how I see it.

I thought these would be exactly like an old 19 quart Rubbermaid Roughneck bin that I have. On that one the latches--which look identical to the new ones--slide to the side to release from the bin lip. On the new ones the latches are molded slightly differently to prevent sliding, So you have to bend the latch upward to pull it over the bin lip. I guess this is what they would call "new and improved"--but I think it will lead to the latch or bin lip eventually breaking. ... show more

2/6 containers shattered. Box was fine, no dents, creases or damage to signal there was a problem. Needed these for air tight storage so I could get everything out to sell my home. Still going to have to stop at walmart to get containers, because two of them are unusable. Hoping yo hear back from rubbermaid customer support, but doing what I can with what did come without damage. Rubbermaid is my go to for containers, so this was a bummer. ... show more
