Purchased the Rubbermaid Commercial Products FG263200GRAY BRUTE Heavy-Duty Round Trash/Garbage Can, 32-Gallon, Gray in 2014. Here we are in August of 2019 and this can still shows no signs of any cracks or tears or ANY significant wear other than the usual scuffs. Have tried to keep it out of the sun but it has sat outside (moderate weather on the central coast of CA) all of this time. Previous "cheaper" (actually much more expensive in the long run) cans would always develop cracks/tears after a year or so. Excellent! I would never buy any other type of can again. ... show more

Bought this can to have a larger can for yard clippings. Costco's 33 gallon black trash bags fit this can perfectly. The rim holds the bags tight, which is great for packing it full of branches without the bag dropping down into the bottom. The bags fit so tight that they can trap air in the body of the can while filling it, but removing the bag is easy since the can has air channels built in. It's probably worth drilling a hole near the top in one of the channels to let air out while filling the bag. ... show more

I use two of these cans for taking our household garbage to the county collections. Both cans have held up to the elements very well with zero signs of wear or fading. The handles are very easy to grab, and the provisions at the bottom of the cans make them easy to empty. The locking lids are easy to remove with one hand, yet lock in place good enough to withstand 50+ mph winds, and have managed to keep wildlife from accessing the cans. The two cans are large enough that with a household of 7 (two adults and 5 kids) we only need to empty them once a week, but are sized perfectly to fit in the back of a Chevy Tahoe for transport(third row folded down). ... show more

    • Sturdy as all get-out, and don't fear the stickers!

Super sturdy. Exactly what I ordered and arrived in brand new condition. This unit does not come with a lid and is not advertised as coming with one; they are sold separately. I did order the rubbermaid dolly to go with this and it is likewise just as sturdy and makes for super smooth rolling and moving this right where you need it, and the wheels have a nice rubber coating that won't damage indoor floors. There were lots of stickers as one reviewer mentioned but I keep adhesive remover around for just such occasions (I use duck brand as it comes with a scraper on the lid - I have children so sticker removal is a necessary thing LOL - I've had that bottle for at least 8 years and still works wonders - one bottle goes a long way, but even regular olive or mineral oil would likely work well enough). I took off what I could on the stickers, rubbed the remover on what was left, went and surfed the net for a bit (probably around 15 - 20 minutes) to let the adhesive remover do it's work. When I came back and scraped at the sticker residue, it just slid right off. Not counting the chill time I spent surfing, it took maybe all of 2 minutes to remove stickers, so that shouldn't scare anyone away. Also I happened to have 55 gallon drum liners from a prior project and they fit the 32 gallon can with TONS of room to spare (they're really too big lol) so I'm sure the 30 or 40-something gallon bags will do nicely when I run out of those. ... show more

    • The perfect can for a busy home

I had 2 dozen couples over for a crawfish boil. I was rolling painters paper down my kitchen table and then rolling crawfish, corn and red potatoes. I needed something other than a traditional 13 gallon kitchen can to clean between courses. This was perfect. It’s that “bulletproof /rubber plastic” stuff but light weight. I could pull the paper, wad it with all the table contents, drop it and re-roll for the next round in seconds. My kitchen smelled like hell the next morning but we had drug this lightweight, super duty garbage can outside - and neither it nor its contents contributed to the work that I had the next morning. It is/was awesome. Dumped its contents in a city can, hosed it out and off to the basement. Can’t wait for Mardi Gras next year. ... show more

My old Rubbermaid Roughneck 32-gallon can was about 15 years old, breaking at the neck, and sprouting holes at the bottom from being dragged along pavement. HomeDepot wanted about $20 more for the Brute than Amazon did, so I did what any reasonable person would do and bought this one. I've had it about a month now, and it fits all my 32-gallon garbage can needs. I generally use it for yard waste, with a bag inserted, and I'm happy with its overall, non-remarkable performance. We generate a lot of heavy, wet trash, and other trash cans we had broke down with little use, especially around the handles. So we purchased this Brute product and it's been holding up well for months, containing heavy, wet trash from our laboratories. It seems to be molded as all one piece, with strong and durable molded in handles. There are no seams to catch dirt which makes it easy to clean and to sanitize. We use heavy trash liner bags, but it's designed to be used without any liners if you wanted to, since there are no seams to leak. We also use one of this containers with a dolly-wheeled base made for it, to store and move around bulk lime. No problems have been experienced with this use either, and the separately purchased wheeled dolly designed for it is also very durable and has held up with no problems. ... show more
