I love this purse! It can be a little hard to find stuff in it as the opening is smaller than I'm used to, but it fits a lot of stuff in it! I have a wallet that's about the thickness of your average paperback, the same length, and about 2/3 the width. It fits just fine. I keep that, two pill bottles, two large sets of keys, a coin purse, full size deodorant, glasses case, an absurd amount of lip products, a few masks, two boxes of njoy cartridges, a pocket knife, and a bunch of folded papers. It still has enough room to throw my phone in, and only be about 2/3 full. The hole in the top is only big enough to accommodate a smaller book. I'd say it's about 6 inches. I've gotten so many compliments on it, especially from older women. The only thing I would add to it is like a chicken sounding squeaker to the face, as you can't really use that portion for storage, and so many people have asked me if it makes noise. It seems pretty durable so far! I'm hard on purses and have been using it for a month every day with no damage. I'll update this in the future if I notice quality issues. This is the most beautiful purchase I have ever made. I'm not disappointed with the size or quality at all. LOTS of inside space, however you have to get it through the (not as big as i'd like, opening) I will update if anything goes wrong with the quality. I was fortunate to get it on sale but I think the price is good. UPDATE: Bag is still in incredibly condition! It's dirty now with a few tears but nothing to worry about. Never gotten more compliments than when I wear this bag out..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ... show more

    • It's a rubber Chicken Purse
My previous yellow Chicken purse lasted several years, my brown one is still going (but because they don't make them anymore I've put it aside). The handle finally snapped on the original yellow purse(though the red fabric covering the handle had not frayed) and I donated it to the preschool for the children to play with. With that said, they shove wooden blocks and actual rocks and all into it and the bottom has held up from nearly a year of their play. It can carry some serious weight without tears or damage. When I inspected it a few days ago to see how it was holding up (and if they'd need a replacement purse), the bottom was still strong despite the fact that it's made of fabric and toddlers were using it constantly. Seriously, it's nearly 5 years old, has been used frequently and maintained a nearly new look to it despite the use and broken handle. With that said, the purse handles are strong, the zipper opening isn't very large but the body of the chicken is large enough that you can fit in it quite a bit. I've done it. You will get comments, and they'll all be the same 3 or 4 comments. It's a novelty purse. BUT with that said, it's well constructed and durable. ... show more

Always receive compliments on this bag. Both the durability and versatility are spot on & can be wiped clean. Get value for the money. The opening of the purse is small but inside is very large!

I had eyed this purse for over a year before I finally bought it. It's a delightful, humorous purse! Everyone that sees it and comments, loves it! It is sturdy and seems to be well constructed. The biggest drawback is the size of the opening. It's so small it makes finding and pulling items out of the purse very difficult, as you can't see inside if your hand is in it. Additionally, the one interior pocket is located near the top and it hangs open, obscuring the entrance to the purse. When I go to put my wallet back inside, the pocket inevitably catches the wallet or whatever I'm attempting to put into my purse, and won't allow it to go further. So I had to hold the pocket closed with my hand while slipping my wallet or other items into the purse alongside my hand. I fixed that, though, by carefully sewing two snaps inside the pocket and to the lining of the purse, so that it stays closed until I unsnap it. (It was a bit tricky to sew, though -- small opening to work in, the lining is slippery, the thread keeps catching in the zipper, etc. But it was well worth the effort, to me.) My photo shows how the pocket behaved before I sewed the snaps on. My typical contents of the pocket are a small sticky note pad and pen (currently missing the pen), a thumb drive with keychain attached, and a small sewing measuring tape (not visible in the photo.) The pocket hangs that way with or without contents. This is a novelty item and is probably not likely to continue in production for very long, but if it were, I would suggest redesigning it slightly, to have the zipper extend, turn, and go down the edge of the hen's tail (in an "L" shape), so that there is a larger opening. And put the pocket further down inside the purse. ... show more
