Got this cooler since we had great experience with their lunch cooler bags in the past. Not disappointed! Rtic has great value, especially for the price. Add in a Prime Day deal, and it was a no brainer. First test was to use some old cheap freezer bags with 2 bottles of water overnight. Cooler was in the house, so not in a hot car, but overall, it kept the contents cool. The test was for 20 hours, so not a full day. Not a scientific test, but the freezer bag was thawed, and showed 49 degrees. Water bottle was cool to the touch, showed 59 degrees. Not bad for a room temp bottle kept overnight in this bag! Only complaint is the Velcro part that keeps the handles together. It is flat, and rigid. Twice it popped itself loose while just sitting there. I think as it gets used and conforms to the closed shape, it will be fine, but it likes to just lay flat open right now. Ready to start using it this weekend when we go to our next adventure! ... show more

I really like this bag a lot. I'm guessing a lot of the negative reviews are from people comparing this to a rotomolded or hard side cooler. Let's be clear, this is never going to hold up to a rotomolded or hard side cooler for ice retention, but it's not designed to. It's meant to be filled up, taken to the beach or a picnic or just your average day outing and if it holds Ice for the whole day I'm good with that. Just to give an idea of it's retention though, I filled it with a 12 pack of bottles with a 10lb bag of ice, took out by the pool for about 4hrs in 95 degree+ weather, granted it was in the shade, but by 6pm it still had most of its ice left. I then left it in my very hot uninsulated garage over night and by the morning it still had plenty of ice in it. I'm honestly impressed by that. So in all fairness, sure it's not gonna hold ice like a more expensive rotomolded ice chest but it did the job for me. The only 2 knocks I can give this bag is that it doesn't have a bottle opener attached which would be nice, and the front pocket is so slim it's basically useless, other than that it's a nice cooler. ... show more

I read, read & read reviews on Google to find the best small cooler to hold ice for drinks. I have put ice packs in the cooler for 24 hours so it’s cold when I add the ice, keep it totally out of the sun and zip it completely even to that ridiculous little notch that the zipper fits into, then you have a damn hard time unzipping it. Yes I put the Vaseline type oil on the zipper. I wish I would have RETURNED IT. My ice might last 2 days. But it already is so melted after the first day. BIG WASTE OF MONEY…. Look at other Coolers. If you do buy this, you’ll be smart to Return it, it’s junk as bad as a Coleman cooler. I wish the company would let me return it, even though it’s past 30 day window ... show more
