  • Over built, not overpriced
Color: Navy
So I am a big proponent of buy once, cry once. I am a stickler for quality in the items I purchase. I am beyond impressed with the quality of this cooler. I took it on a 5 day trip and had to replenish the ice one time. The ice lasted about 4 days. The cooler held 12 one (1) liter bottles of Evian and two (2) cases of celsius energy drinks along with a 20 pound bag of ice like it was built for them. It did not leak, it did not sweat, and it fit my Ford Explorer perfectly. The only thing remotely “negative” I’ll say about the cooler is the weight. Fully loaded, I would guess the whole thing weighed about 120 pounds. I love the weight. To me weight shows durability and reliability. If the cooler lasts me 30 years, it was a worthy buy. I would recommend this cooler to anyone. I compared it directly to the Yeti and found the Yeti VERY lacking, especially for the cost. I will be a Rtic customer from this point forward. Cheers! ... show more

  • Love RTIC coolers great quality
Color: White
Purchased another boat that will be left in the water. I have several other RTIC and Yeti coolers. These things are built like a tank. It is heavy, but that is because it is build to keep things super cold for a long period of time. And the weight helps to keep it from sliding around. I have a smaller one that stays in the back of my truck and it always stays put. It looks awesome and holds a lot of drinks and ice, I am a big fan of the white and it is easy to clean up. ... show more

  • Great cooler! (updates) Great cooler! (updates)
Color: Tan
Highly impressed with the RTIC 45. First off, ordered the 45 and 20 on a Monday afternoon and received them Tuesday morning. Coolers both look great, no discernible difference in appearance or build quality between these and the Yetis. The big question is how does it hold ice? The answer is great. The 45 has had ice in it going on day 4 now. Not sure if the 20 will go as long, but mine has done very well even while being constantly opened and closed. I was torn between the 45 and the 65. After carrying the 45 filled with ice, I'm glad I didn't go bigger! Attached pic is from today, after a few days, in and out grabbing water, adding new water, and sitting in the back of my truck. Update: I've had both the 20 and 45 for about two months now and have used them both quite a bit traveling and during hunting season. Five observations so far: 1. The 20 doesn't hold ice as long as the larger 45. Kind of expected though, and it still holds ice worlds longer than the Igloo cube it replaced. The Igloo didn't last a day and I get 3, maybe 4 days out of the 20. I'm happy with that. 2. The lid doesn't always want to stay open. Somewhat annoying at first but I've gotten used to it. 3. I haven't had the issue, but have seen complaints about condensation around the drain plug. The drain plug is not insulated, and a quick fix is shoving a wine cork into there. It fits perfectly and effectively insulates the drain plug. 4. The 45 is a great performer. I'm constantly impressed with ice retention. Loaded, it is quite heavy to carry solo. 5. What I'm not impressed with is what they did with their warranty. They changed overnight without notice from 7 years to 30 days. I really like the product, but probably wouldn't have bought knowing that. The two I have so far give every appearance that I won't have any issues, but I'm a little wary now. ... show more

  • Amazing travel cooler
Color: Tan
I am very happy with this cooler. It has served me very well. I purchased this cooler for my truck bed camper set up and I have not been disappointed. I put ice in it 14 days ago, in weather that has been varying from 82 degrees in the day to 40 degrees at night and it is still there. It has a solid build you can feel as soon as you pick it up. I have used it as a step stool to get to my roof rack locks. The foot pads adhere to the truck bed very well and it has not shifted once. Great product and a fraction of the cost of some of the other coolers out there that perform on level with it. Dec 2019 - I have had this cooler for quite awhile now and I will say the biggest reason I gave this cooler 5 stars was because of the amazing and affordable price I purchased it at, which I believe at the time was about $165.00 or so. Now I return to find it at the exact same price as the Yeti. This is an outstanding cooler and has performed well so far. I did have to replace the O-rings around the plug due to leakage at couple times, but I consider that just standard maintenance. The bear resistant advertisement seems new as well and I can confidently say a brown or even a black bear would rip the lid open like a fat kid goin at a bag of Skittles. No way are those rubber toggles keeping a bear out. Saying this cooler is bear resistant is the equivalent of saying a cereal box is child resistant because the kid has to open it. Overall...I would say since RTIC has upped the price you are better off going with a Yeti. Yeti has been around longer, has worked out a great deal of their kinks and hiccups as far as manufacturing and production goes, and has pretty solid customer support from what I have heard. RTIC's biggest appeal, its affordable price, has apparently gone away. ... show more

  • Excellent insulation, kept drinks cold for 5 days
For my needs this is pretty great, I've been going to a town a 2-3 hours away from my home semi frequently lately, and they have this ice cream that my family loves. I'm there once a month and would stock up on 5-8 pints of their ice cream for everyone. The cheap coolers packed with ice would not keep the ice cream properly cooled when I'd head back home, they'd melt about 30-40% and refreeze with that weird texture. So I figured since we'll be doing some camping and day trips to the beach in a few months that I'll invest in a quality cooler. Went with this brand because its more reasonably priced but just as good of quality as the obvious similar product that is 50% more costly. I also bought this with 8 large ice packs, I use 4 to pre chill the cooler the night before, then the other 4 for when I head out, and put I believe 10lbs of ice in. If you pre chill the cooler and replace with fresh ice paks/ice right before the trip, then this thing is a mini fridge for at least 3 full days. Now the ice cream does not melt at all on the trip back, and 12oz cans of soda stay cold in the cooler for 5 days. I am confident it'd keep everything cold for at least a full 24hrs when in the desert heat, will update in the summer if it does not. I also need to find out if the drainage holes are 100% water tight or not, as I've usually dumped the ice out after a couple days before significant melting occurs, but left the cooler in my office the past week to just grab a cold drink and test the insulation of the cooler, and realized too late that the carpet around the cooler is wet and probably a half gallon of melted ice water leaked out. Will update if it was just cause I didn't have the plugs screwed in tight, or if there is a defect. ... show more

  • Great cooler, as good as Yeti and Grizzly
Color: White
Love this cooler always wanted a yeti or grizzly but I couldn't get them delivered in time for trip. We camp as a group twice a year in the Izarks on the Little Missouri River. All of my friends use yeti or grizzly so figured I'd give this a try. Worked well for my needs. I usually take 3 coolers and have refrigerator in my camper. I replaced 2 igloos with this and a 23 quart Sub-Z that is also a great cooler. I still use a 50qt Coleman for beer which I've use last 3 years. On a norm I usually go to town 20miles for at least 3 bags of ice daily. This trip I only needed 1 every other day usually to ice drinks down in Coleman. I was up there 6 nights 7 days and coolers did a great job. If you're looking for a miracle and you want to fill your cooler once and expect no melt off then find something else. With this full of ice I'd say it's good for 4-6 days but with 2 of them I did top them off or check them everyday. All I can say is in my experience went approximately 18 bags of ice for a normal week with traditional coolers to 3-5 bags just too keep in the colder side. I'm guessing a savings of around $42 for the week so it will take a few trips to pay for it self but makes it nice not to have to run in to town every day ... show more

  • This is a cheaper alternative to a well-known competitive brand and its just as good if not better!
Color: Navy
The RTIC is a competitor to another brand (named after an ape-like creature) which is much more expensive, but it is built just as well if not better making the RTIC the no-brainer choice. This cooler is big, sturdy with thick walls with very high quality construction. The outside is tough and durable, the lid is solid and has a very thick seal like a refrigerator door, and the rope handles are heavy-duty and are perfect to allow one or two people to carry the cooler. I love the smart engineering, for instance it has two serious drain plugs that are different - one drains to about 3 inches from the bottom, the other drains completely. So if you're re-icing the cooler and you want to keep just a bit of the cold melted water at the bottom you can. The RTIC folks also offer a divider - THANK YOU! Instead of putting everything into just a huge box the divider can separate drinks from food, etc. It's not water tight so melted ice water from one side will make it over to the other, but its a great way to organize things AND the divider doubles as a <drum roll please> cutting board! Brilliant! ... show more
