Go Big or go Home, as they say. Will update if needed. 10/3/2024-----10/10/24 The safe is working very well. The siren alarm thing is a sad joke, 60 seconds of a very low volume ringing. I keep fire arms in here, so be sure to keep Desiccant Silica Gel Packets in there, I have read humidity builds up in fire-proof safes.-----10/25/2024 Added 40 Lbs. of weight to the safe. I see people showing cute pictures of little safes, sitting on a shelf somewhere. If I were a burglar, I would love those little things. Just pick up the safe and run out of your house with it. It would actually make stealing easier, IMO. 12/31/204 Update: I like this safe so much I ordered a second one. I cut my own steel flat bar and bought a 3/8" long bolt to secure it to the floor. I went into the basement underneath the floor and locked in the second flat bar piece with a 3/8" nut. With my home security system in place, there is no way anybody is stealing my valuables again. If I lived in an apartment (where I was could not drill through the floor), I would buy two large safes like this, and bolt the two together from one side to the next. Throw in the added weight like did and it will make theft much more difficult IMO.

Installation was exceptionally easy, the safe was very well packaged, small tolerances, sturdy design, good shipping container, easy to program, sturdy LED keypad, failsafe back up battery pack when the main battery fails, this safe is fireproof very practical, this safe is fireproof if you need a large safe with high security, but it is not lightweight. It looks great and was easy to install. Very secure and no problems at all. It feels very sturdy. This is an excellent choice for you.

So first some of the good. First of all, this safe actually matched the cubic feet of storage that it claimed. The vast majority of safes that we found on Amazon were nowhere near the cubic foot size that they claim. You would see a safe saying it is 4.2 cubic feet of storage but when you run the internal dimensions through a cubic foot calculator you see that it was only 2.2 cubic feet (almost half the advertised size). We also really like that it is UL 72 rated for being fireproof without just relying on a small bag inside to provide the fire protection like most of the listed safes. The safe is sturdy enough and heavy enough that someone wouldn't be able to just grab it and easily carry it out (assuming you didn't bolt it to the floor they would still need a dolly or multiple people carrying it to take it away). As far as the things that could be improved. The biggest one for us was that the depth of the safe was not enough to put a binder in, so we have had to find alternate (less desirable) means to hold some of our documents so they would be able to fit into the safe. There are keys to get into the safe, but it isn't intuitive that you have to remove the digital pad to get to the lock to insert them into. When you create a passcode for the safe, you only have the digits 1-4 to use instead of also having digits 0,5-9 to use for a passcode.

This safe meets my needs and is sturdy construction with quality finishes! I’ve seen photos of other safes with sloppy or cracked welds and scuffs or scrapes. This safe is solid with a very good appearance, inside and outside. Well worth the money.

Package arrived in decent shape. Fully sealed. Upon opening, discovered the major defects shown in the pictures. Not caused by shipping, as there is rust on several of the damaged spots and the foam covered the spots. Item does work, definitely feels "cheap".
