I bought this grill over a year ago, live on the Shenandoah and use it most every weekend. Using standard griddle cleaning technique, and keeping the grill top in my house, vs outside, it has no rust and the food is just incredible. Inoperable to get commercial grade accessories, clean after use, and keep the griddle inside after it cools down. The coolest feature though... this has 2 burners. And as much suffrage space as my 6 burner traditional grill. Translation? I only use two, maybe 3 propane tanks a year, where with my 6 burner standard grill, I was using a new propane tank every month. Much easier to keep clean, very therapeutic cooking and cleaning experience. Highly efficient and even stands up well in windy days. Top tip, use a grill mat or rug under it, tends to throw grease around if you're cooking at higher temps... which I don't suggest, I cook just about everything on low heat. Would literally be a salesman for this product. Best bacon, brats, stir fry, burgers, steak, eggs, hash browns, chicken and veggies you'll ever eat. ... show more

Top of grill very heavy. Cast iron Bottom of grill bad out of cheap metal. Missing screws. Pins for top of grill to attach to the bottom of the grill was missing. Holes to put the grill together was misaligned Directions were made from aliens who do not speak any language on earth. My first grill was delivered to my front door, unfortunately because Amazon did not follow directions to put all boxes on my back step. We see how it does in the future. Royal Gourmet call this a ceramic cooktop. It's not like any ceramic I have ever seen or used. The surface is somewhat rough. They also say that it should be seasoned. When I questioned why I should season a ceramic griddle top, I got some really hokum answers from the girl in Customer Service. I replied and requested that she consult her R&D / Design people to get better information. She emailed me back and said that the seasoning was required to ensure even heat distribution. As someone who uses carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel and ceramic cookware, I recognized her reply as a deliberate blocking and hazing attempt. She didn't want to help me, so she just made up stuff to tell me. I tried it with and without seasoning, but it just didn't work out well either way. I'm not a novice when it comes to cooking on various surfaces. Seasoning is used for one purpose: to prevent rust. It has nothing to do with heat distribution. She made up stuff and lied to me. That is not acceptable. I had this 22" griddle and a 36" griddle. I never even used the 36" griddle after I assembled it. I sold both griddles for pennies on the dollar and moved on. I now have a stainless steel griddle and it surpasses the Royal Gourmet stuff by a long shot. It's a better cooking surface than seasoned rolled steel or porcelain enameled steel. Received my Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 2-Burner Propane Gas Grill Griddle last week. Arrived on schedule in 2 days from order placed on Amazon. Assembled on Friday. Made dinner on Saturday. Product quality met my expectations. The general design of the griddle is good. The cooking surface itself is very sturdy and well built. It uses only one size screw fastener for all assembly. Nothing was bent, although the box was pretty beat up. A minor flaw in the build did not permit two screws to reach the treading holding the back of the cook top to attached to the stand. But there are 8 other screws supporting that role in the direct vicinity, so hence I consider this minor. This thing gets plenty hot. I was skeptical on the BTU ratings in the product description. But I would say they are true now that I've actually used it. The heat was well distributed. The cross bars under the cook top seem to be quite effective. I preheated the griddle at max burner. Dropped the heat to med to cook these smash burgers. Great browning/charring of the beef and onions at this temperature with this cooking surface. The accessory hooks hang a bit too low for my cooking tools, allows them to touch the ground, so they are not very useful for me. The side table gets hot, and anything on the table will get a blast of radiant heat from an unobstructed path from under the cook top. So Nothing plastic or glass on that shelf for more then a few seconds. Generally the griddle is stable during cooking... no dancing around. The handle at the end of the shelf and the wheels work well to move the unit around . It also holds it's ground when scraping the burned stuff off the cooking surface. The lack of a proper cover sucks. The non-matching one I bought is a horrible fit. I'll likely customize it to fit better. Overall: - Good value - Get's plenty hot - Quality product - Just the right size for my weekend warrior use-case and back yard. I'd recommend this unit to friends. ... show more
