Let me start off my staying when I go to the gym my main exercise is the row machine. I bought this for the days I didn’t want to leave the house or didn’t have time to put in a gym session. I was skeptical when I bought this about how much resistance these bungee cords would offer, but I was impressed. With the gym’s row machine I crank the resistance all the way to 10 and go in 5 minute increments. With this row machine I used all 3 bands from the get-go and after about a minute I could already feel my arms starting to get exhausted. I did my first 5 min interval, took a 2 minute break, and started the next interval. I had to give my arms a few seconds to rest after 1:30. So from a pure resistance standpoint, if you are skeptical like I was, don’t be. It’s got plenty. There are things I would change about this machine, such as the incline (I wish it didn’t have one), and the length of the track is JUST BARELY long enough for me. I am 5’ 8”. If you are 6’+ this is not gonna work for you. The last thing, and I can’t really figure it out, is I am not getting one ounce of a leg workout. Even when I put all my focus into it, I feel barely anything after 5 and 10 minutes. I do miss that calve workout I get fro. The gym row machine. I will continue to play around with it to see if I can figure that issue out. Overall, it’s a great purchase for $100. Well built, easy to put together, and foldable so it doesn’t take up the whole room. With a little tweaking of the overall design (maybe adjustable incline settings on the back end of the machine?) of this row machine it could be amazing! Pluses: I love that this folds up and has wheels. Easy to use and assemble. Plenty of resistance. I use the highest resistance at the gym and this is comparable. The monitor is easy to read. Minuses: The directions for assembly are rubbish. They should label parts with letters like A, B, C.... Marked up my wall when I stood it up. Too tall to fit under my bed and I have a high bed. There is no fan (because there is no wheel) to cool you down like a gym rowing machine. There is some shedding to the red bands which might make the machine wear down faster. I found it hard to change the resistance on the bands. Update: I have been using this for a few months and my arms are looking ripped! I am impressed because I am almost 50 years old and I have tried all kinds of other weight lifting to tone my arms with only mild success. I do NOT use my legs much and I focus the motion on my back and arms. So this is more about my arms and back than it is about getting a cardio workout for me. I do several short (30 seconds - 1 minute) bursts with a break in between each day so that I can really focus on form. I am a bit worried because if you see the picture I have attached, the red rubber band chords that provide all the resistance are shedding with each use. I may have to go on hiatus from purchasing. Everything I buy is used. IF I choose NEW, I expect NEW! Used items are only to arrive IF CHOSEN. PARTS were all over the place.. the bubble plastic was old & discolored, the flat clear wrap was torn & taped over. Some pieces are missing, so assembly is whack. Just FYI - this little bugger is a little beast! I've had mine for about 2 months and have yet to get up to what I'd consider a respectable level lol. All-in-all, it feels like a well made product. Mostly sturdy steel. They didn't lie about the assembly - it was a piece 'o cake. The overall rowing range is a shorter one but it works for me - I'm 5'9". After two or so months, I'm still at the lowest level - a 1 out of 3. So I can't begin to imagine what a level 3 might be like, and not sure if I'll ever get there! Yes - recommended. ... show more
