Description

The original dark launched the fine line of Rover ligatures in 1974, and introduced an innovative approach to ligature design. It is especially enjoyed by the classical player, and despite many imitators, continues to be our best- seller. For decades It has also been the "go-to" Ligature for music educators, knowing they can recommend it with complete confidence that a Rover ligature is just the thing to help developing players move to the next level of performance.

  • Smaller bari sax ligature
This works great with my metal Otto Link 6* baritone sax mouthpiece. This also matches what the Rover sizing guide suggests on their website. If you're looking for something smaller for this type of metal mouthpiece, this should work. It won't work on larger mouthpieces (does not even closely fit on my Rousseau JDX 7). ... show more

  • This is the same size as their tenor sax ligature.
They should not try to sell a tenor sax ligature as a baritone sax ligature. It is way too small for a typical hard rubber baritone mouthpiece like the Yamaha 5C.

  • Using it with Theo Wanne Durga 5
I purchased this ligature for my Bari Durga 5 mouthpiece, according to Rovner web this was the proper fit for it. It worked however it didn't secured the reed very good since it was a little big for the mouthpiece, I had to take off pieces of leather, shorten them and glue them again, now it secures the reed much better on de Durga 5 ... show more

  • Cloth is the way to go with ligatures
Rovner ligatures are simply the best option. All the different metal ligatures I've had in the past would allow the reed too much wiggle room. Especially in energetic performances. The cloth option gives more evenly distributed pressure on the reed, prevents slipping because it isn't smooth like metal, and doesn't scratch up a mouthpiece ... show more
