  • Not the typical sleek design but works better than most.
I really like Rosle tool that are made in Germany. While the design of this garlic press is pretty simple, reasonably strong, and there are several characteristics that make this superior to most garlic presses; the functionality while operating may leave something to be desired. The bennefits are quite clear and it offers a good mechanical advantage while pressing garlic. This simple design offers 3 main attributes with minimal moving pieces; 1) The wide handles is distributes the pressure across a greater surface area. 2) The screen flips out for easy cleaning when opened. 3) One handle is heavier than the other and when closed fits into the other. This makes it easier to hold while loading and pressing. It works well bur in not exactly sure that it’s the quality that I expect from Rosle either. When I first got it I was indifferent about the look and function. My initial review was, “This is very well built maybe a little overbuilt. It's kind of big and chunky and I think I may have liked a smaller one better. Guess I will never know.” Now that I’ve used it for over a year I like it more than most garlic presses and appreciate that it’s not made in China, but the design, specifically the over-size handle and excessive weight, make it cumbersome to use. Also don't think it has aged well compared to some of the other Rosle tools that look like the day I bought them even after years of use. On this tool, the stamp is already wearing off the handle, I've bent the mincing screen, and I can see a stress crack at the hinge. Even with a few complaints I think this may be the best garlic press out there. I trust the quality of the brand but if it does break all the way, I will update my review. ... show more

  • Just Meh. I've had it for several months now.
MASSIVE Rosle fan. Probably an odd attachment to my Rosle pots/pans, and can opener. So this seemed like a worthwhile purchase. I don't hate it. That said, it's a lot of money for something I'm just okay with. I like the way it stands, cleans, and its fairly easy to press. That being said there are things I don't like. If you like to let it hang open to add garlic, you can't. The grate piece pops loose from it's groove (thus the easy cleanup). You lose a lot of garlic up around the sides of the press and end up with chunks. I had to replace the pin in the hinge when it fell out. there's nothing really holding it in place. ... show more

  • Rivet is the weakest link
Purchased in Feb 2021, and the rivet split in half and broke after almost 2 years' use. Found the rivet in my salad and almost broke a tooth over it as it fell into the bowl without my knowing it (when adding garlic to the salad). I really expected more quality from this brand, instead it's just another piece of garbage because quality control couldn't make a more solid hinge-rivet. Quality is a thing of the past. Everything's become even more disposable, and at a faster rate. ... show more

  • Does not mince garlic
I have been looking for a replacement garlic press - we use a lot of garlic at our house - and I thought I had found it. This one looks promising with its all stainless steel construction and from that perspective and ease of cleaning it is great. But it does not press garlic. There is enough space between the presser and holes through which the garlic is supposed to emerge that I can manage to flatten the garlic with only a minuscule amount of garlic coming through the grated opening. If you put a huge piece of garlic in you can get more to come out but with more than 1/2 of it wasted as it is stuck inside. A waste of money. Don't bother. ... show more

  • Pressed for Garlic
Works well, although I wish I would have gotten the earlier version. This one is a bit rough on my wrist, but I have a wrist problem. It will probably not give others a problem. Overall it’s good. Expensive but will last I’m sure.

  • Rosle Garlic Press Broken
This had good reviews, had a good write up, came with a warranty. However, it broke within three months, Amazon closed out the sale and the manufacturer is not communicating. I'm stuck with a broken press and no warranty as promised. Not very pleased on this end. Manufacturer has made contact and is fulfilling the warranty. Much happier now! ... show more

  • Inefficient and wasteful
I can't believe that, as of my writing, my 2 star review will be the most positive review for the new style of this press. My press is very wasteful: there is a lot of garlic left in the hopper. I suspect that other users are breaking their presses by trying to get it to crush the entire clove, when the machine is simply not designed to do so. It's attractive, but it's poorly designed: the materials are strong, but it's also designed so that anyone of average hand strength could break it if they didn't understand how it worked. ... show more

  • I returned this before using it due to obvious design problems
I did not put this "NEW DESIGN" to the test. I ordered both the "old design" and "new design" and in agreement with other reviewers....it is clear to me that this new design is inferior due to the large gaps present in the fruit crush chamber. I returned the "New Design" and kept the "Old Design" which looks like a garlic crushing beast. Both are built out of excellent materials and very sturdy, but I'm not going to waste my time testing out the new design that has 1/16th of an inch gaps on the sides of the crush chamber. I wanted to like it, it looks cool, but "no thanks" for $50 :) ... show more
