I eat a main meal out 6 days a week and at least two of them are a fish dinner complete with a slice of lemon. I always liked to squeeze a bit of the lemon on the fish but frequently ended up with a messy situation and sticky fingers. Once while trying to compress the slice between a soup spoon and a fork the lemon managed to somehow slip out and fly over my shoulder and land in the middle of the occupied table behind me. I jumped up and grabbed my napkin and recaptured the slice and wiped up the spot. Fortunately the diners were quite nice about it but I decided not to try that maneuver again. I happened to think a garlic press might just be the answer and tried 2 different ones. One had no size description and though cheaper, was just not handy to use. The one I'm reviewing is smaller and has a basket to be squeezed of about an inch deep and not quite an inch long and about 5/8 or so wide. I cut the slice in two and fork the two pieces into the press. A larger than expected amount of juice is available. I now drip a few drops into my water glass also. The solid sides of the container keep the juice coming out the perforated bottom only. I now have a total of four of these presses since I keep one in both vehicles and can have one or two in the dishwasher also. I keep them in zippered sandwich bags in the vehicles and carry the used one back home in the same bag. The one that didn't work out was actually labeled as a lemon squeezer but obviously designed to deal with a whole or half of a lemon at once. It really doesn't do well with a single slice at all. I put a lot of effort into the trial squeeze and got almost nothing and part of that went sideways onto my shirt. That tool is brightly colored and made out of aluminum with a thick coloring layer. The one here is made out of stainless steel and is just nice and shiny. Yup, I'm quite happy with it cuzz it does work well.

It does press well and is easy to clean. It comes with a small brush to help clean the small holes in the press. It also comes with a silicon tube to help peel the garlic cloves.
