Very hard to bottom water. Sturdy though and a good size for fast growing plants. Will keep but the watering issue is super annoying EDIT: company reached out to get more details and it turns out I have been using the darn things incorrectly! 5/5, excellent product!

This is a great nursery pot and tray set for rooting plants, especially succulents. I've accumulated quite a collection of cacti and succulents over the years, and I'm currently propagating new offsets and leaf cuttings. Having this set has made the process much more organized and convenient. One thing I really like is that the pots are 2.8 inches in diameter, which is slightly larger than the standard 2-inch nursery pots I've been using. The included tray is designed to hold all of the pots securely, making it easy to organize, transport, and care for multiple propagating plants at once. The pots are well made and have plenty of drainage slits, which is especially important for succulents since they're prone to root rot, particularly while developing new roots. The tray also features built-in drainage channels that help direct excess water away from the bottoms of the pots instead of allowing it to pool underneath them. Another nice surprise was the quality of the tray itself. It's sturdier and slightly thicker than many nursery trays I've used in the past. My older trays are fairly thin and tend to crack over time once they're loaded with soil and plants, so I expect these to last much longer. Overall, I'm very happy with this nursery propagation set. It includes both the tray and pots, so it's ready to use right out of the box. With 24 pots per tray, it provides plenty of space for starting new plants. At around $29 at the time of writing, I think it's competitively priced and offers good value for gardeners who regularly propagate succulents or other small plants.

RooTrimmer 5 Pack of 24 Cell Nursery Pots and Trays Review: I really like these so much. I haven't gotten to use them yet because it's the middle of winter. However, I am about to use them to start tomatoes and peppers and some other warm weather people because I'm in 9b. I expect that they'll work great for that. I haven't used exactly this setup for that before. These trays have the ability to use them in a bottom watering kind of fashion while also having holes in the bottoms. There're just a couple of small holes in each tray. I'm thinking that after the seedlings get to a certain age, I'll move to watering by putting those trays on top of some other small trays that I have. After 10 minutes or so, I'll remove the very bottom trays that don't have any holes in them and let these trays drain...and then in another 10 minutes, I'll put back the tray with the little pots in it into the grow tent under the grow lights. They'll get this treatment when it has warmed up. Until then, it's important to be very careful with the amount of water that gets left with your seedlings in this cold weather. There are many small holes in the bottoms of these pots. It's unusual. I think it'll be really good for drainage and, therefore, root development. Better than normal. (But, I can also see that it could be nice to have the ones where you can stick your finger in the bottom to push the plant out. You can't do that with these, but it's really not a big deal in any way.) Especially since they're so pliable. If you had excellent root development and waited a little too long to transplant out of these pots, they're very squeezable without breaking, at least in their new state. This size is just perfect for starting those summer vegetables. I also think it would be a good size for multi-sowing greens and root vegetables like beets and turnips and radishes. Once they get to a sufficient size, I could then split them up into the different pots and then continue to use these pots (particularly because they're 3 inches deep) just with the individual plant in them at that point. It's hard to say about the price point. Until I've used them for a few years, I won't really know if I'm comfortable with their current price of $37.99. I would, of course, rather that they were cheaper. However, given what I've paid for similar items, if these turn out to be "forever" pots and trays, then I would be very happy to pay this price for them. I'm not sure at what year I would have an issue with it...maybe 10 years. But I think that I should be able to expect something like this, at this price point, to last indefinitely with proper care. We shall see. They don't promise that. I imagine that keeping them out of direct sunlight and rain will help. The trays are super sturdy. I'll include a photo. The pots are flexible and don't seem like they would break easily. The plastic seems like it's a pretty good thickness all around. The edges of the pots is a tiny bit on the sharp side but it's pretty normal. The edges of the trays are somewhat sharp and you should be careful not to run your finger along them. I'm excited to have a system that is meant for bottom watering. You're supposed to be able to pour directly from your watering can into the corner of the tray. I won't know how all that works out until I have seedlings that are a little older. I start out with misting them, of course. There are channels and it's designed such that it looks like everything that could have been done to keep the pots raised up a little bit to avoid any kind of root rotting situation has been done. So, I'm excited! Again, for anyone who's new to seed sowing, this should work for planting two to three tomato, pepper, squash or maybe watermelon seeds each in them for early sowing. Don't try to start really small seeds in these unless you are putting multiples in to prick out later. That's because there isn't enough seed to absorb the amount of water in the surrounding soil if your ratio has too much soil to too little seed. That leads to rot. In my experience, the bottom watering kicks in when you have a small seedling that has already grown some roots that are stretching down there.
