Roomba i4+ purchased off the Treasure truck listing. So far, a little disappointing. First off, to get it so sync up with the app - ALMOST impossible. Was just about to pack it up to return it and all of a sudden it linked. Not a great start. It did link up with Alexa quickly. A couple other notes, you can only "map" ONLY ONE room. Holy cow. Really? That's disappointing. You can name all kinds of rooms, but you only save ONE room. Also, when it returned to the home base it dumped a bunch of crap that it had gathered up at the bottom of the ramp it sits on. It seems to do a fairly good job picking stuff up. It also did really well getting under things without getting stuck, over minor cords and thinner carpets. You do need to pick up shoes, etc. You do need to clear the side brush of human hair. The self emptying part seems to work fairly well, unless that is the reason it dumped stuff at the base .. (?) Then there is the part that you have to look up a use manual. Nothing comes with it. Not even how to empty the base! We use Youtube. Overall, the price was good. But you'll need a lot of patience and ability (understanding) about how to get the manual or instruction on how to use. I am on the fence. Not sure I can recommend it just yet. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. It does struggle a bit with deeper dust or larger pieces of dirt so I do still use my Dyson once every now and again, but I set the Roomba to clean everything downstairs every night and it keeps the pet hair perfectly under control (I have one medium coated dog, one short haired cat, and one medium to long haired cat whose hobby is shedding huge clumps of fur everywhere, as well as frequently watching my grandmother's cat, so, lots of fur). I'll likely get a second one for upstairs at some point. ... show more

The Roomba i4 (4552) model is a great time saver. I give a 4 on battery life only because it has to recharge during the cleaning. However, since it works automatically, it is not an issue. My floor has a lot of obstacles which causes the Roomba to have navigation problems because it bumps into chair and table legs. If you have a lot of open space the machine will be very effective and get the job done quicker. This is a great machine that cleans well. Yes, it is loud when emptying the dirt. That is not a problem, though- it is automatic! I purchased it during an Amazon Prime Day sale and got a great deal of $399.00. If you have a floor with open spaces it will work very well and quickly. If you have lots of obstacles, it will take longer to complete the job and you may have to reset it. Upgraded from fist generation of iRobot to the i4 with emptying tank. The new technology makes it vacuum in straight rows, most of the time. It remembers where it left off after it empties the bag. LOVE IT!

    • Without question, the dumbest robot I have ever seen

I bought this Roomba i4+ because Amazon was having a sale and I was curious if it would freak out my dog. When it arrived, I set it up according to the very simple instructions contained in a booklet included in the box. The instructions may have been a bit too simple, though, because they neglected to explain - for example - that Roomba can't connect to 5Ghz wifi networks. They wait to let the mobile app tell you that after the robot has failed to connect to wifi three or four times and you finally click on the (tiny) "Help Me" icon at the bottom of the screen. Anyway I finally got it set up, but for $400 it was not nearly as smooth a process as it should be. Once everything was finally working, I pushed the button in the app to make the little robot go clean my apartment. It rolled off the charging deck with a cute little chirp, looked around for a moment, and then made a beeline directly for my fireplace. The fireplace is closed off by a cover, but the floor around it is lower than the floor in the rest of the room. The Roomba app assured me that this would not be a problem, because Roomba can handle slight elevation changes like that. Well, maybe some Roombas can handle it, but my little guy could not. It threw itself into the fireplace and immediately got stuck there, whirring around in noisy little circles for approximately fifteen minutes until it finally gave up and sent a notification to my app that it needed help. I picked it up and repositioned it away from the fireplace. It thanked me with another happy little chirp and whirled around it what I took to be a little dance of joy at its newfound freedom. Then it turned and threw itself directly back into the fireplace. It did this six more times. Finally, I wised up and put a bunch of heavy objects around the fireplace so it would not be able to get back in there (despite several of its best efforts). The Roomba then decided to clean under my coffee table. Finally, it was working as intended! But then I got a notification that, with less than a quarter of the room vacuumed, my Roomba was done. It was returning to its charging station. Only instead of returning to its charging station, it repeatedly slammed itself into a wall approximately six feet away from its charging station. I assumed it would eventually figure out it was in the wrong place, and I let it do its thing while I went into another room. When I came back an hour later, it was powered down in more or less the same place, apparently having died in the middle of an effort to climb up the wall itself. I put it back on flat ground, turned it back on (the battery wasn't dead after all - not even close, actually), and watched as it tried again. It did a 180, went to the exact opposite side of the room, did a few circles, and then finally seemed to figure out where it was. It then, at long last, returned to its charging station, having successfully cleaned perhaps 25% of my small living room. It was all kind of funny to watch, and I'll probably use it again just for laughs. But as a cleaning product it is definitely not worth $400. Oh, and also - the dog didn't show any interest in it at all. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bougth this Roomba last November 21, for the first 3 months it works very well, then started to clean in different places and not cleaning in others, the empty bin stopped to work, i called the customer service and they answer was fast, the took back the robot for the warranty resolved the problem ( empty bin itself ), but now the robot is making a loud noise, and it is not working properly, i think now it is worse. I tried to reach them by email customer service and it is impossible. Now they replaced it for a new one. You can trust in this company and it is a good Robot !!! Thks Roomba!!! ... show more
