Description

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of "being thrown into the world". Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non- linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself. Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Throughout the game you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you.

  • Great game.

Fun game to play. A bit complicated getting started but fun to play. I seen it on Xbox and am glad PS5 picked it up.

  • An experience like no other
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
Let me start off by saying, this game is -not- for everyone. Anyone looking to go guns blazing will find themselves sorely disappointed. As an experience? It is without comparison. The silent derelict captures an atmosphere like no other, and the sheer air of mystery that pervades the air of the sleeping hulks is tantalizing. If you are a big fan of H.R. Giger's sinisterly psychosexual art style, this game will check all the boxes. Its strongest asset is its visuals - every frame of this game looks like it was lifted directly from concept art with absolutely nothing lost in translation (that is some incredible commitment in the art department). The gameplay will be at times be on the cumbersome side, but this is a deliberate choice. Every object in the environment you interact with captures the feeling of being an outsider attempting to understand the mechanism of an ancient and otherworldly device. This might put off those looking for something on the more accessible side, so take caution if that describes you. I will say that one particular puzzle early on is especially challenging. To keep the details vague imagine being given a sliding block puzzle, but one where all the pieces look the same, and you have no idea what you are looking for or what the goal is. To those who really dig deep into the logic of it, the answer should [eventually] be very obvious, but I suspect most people will only find this frustrating and a hindrance to the overall experience. My advice if you fall into this camp is to go ahead and look up the answer. None of the other puzzles are quite so brutal, and there's no reason to rob yourself of an otherwise delightfully mystifying experience because this one early puzzle was put forward with a surprising lack of training wheels. I am to understand that my copy may have arrived with some patches included already. Hopefully that is the case for all such copies, as I have gotten wind that the earlier, unpatched versions, were far less forgiving. For a game that is already challenging due to deliberate gameplay decisions, small mercies like those I benefited from were most welcome. ... show more

  • An experience like no other

This game has a story and visuals unlike anything I've ever experienced in a game. It is simply too different and weird to explain. Some scenes are hard to look at. It is also gut-wrenching to play but if you have a strong stomach and like dark settings and obtuse stories, you'll LOVE this game.

  • Artistic Masterpiece!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
This game isn't really a game in the traditional sense! There are puzzles and combat sure, but this is an experience worth the go! This game is not for everyone and the story can be vague and confusing, but in my opinion it's really great! The graphics and atmosphere are masterful in making the world of scorn a dreadful experience in all the best ways possible! The combat is bad but I think it's supposed to be that way! The puzzles are really clever and will make you at least 10% smarter after the game, it's short and sweet, so wait for a price drop if you are on the fence getting it! The included digital soundtrack is included as a mp3 download and the art book was hard for me to open up properly as it's in a .mobi format, so keep that in mind, the steel book is a nice touch as well! If you are in to artsy entertainment give scorn a go! ... show more

  • Mostly purchased for the extras

I was really looking forward to this game when it was announced. Then disappointed when the reviews were not good. I got a great deal on the special edition, and felt it was worth it for the art book and soundtrack. The game itself is pretty good, very unique.

  • Short but sweeet.

Played and beat this on PC but had to own the ps5 physical. Great for collectors. The game itself is creepy and visually appealing. However, it’s not much a game but more a visual walking sim.
