I purchased my hammock in July of 2021. It did have an odor I could not tolerate. The seller told me it could be washed so I washed it. The odor was gone completely. I'm a bit OCD and the tassels were quite tangled but I fixed that. I have used this for 2 years. It is still like new. It is comfortable, it is beautiful, and it has held up very well. I have two places that I use it. One is on my covered porch, diagonally between two posts and one is out on a swing set frame in the backyard. When I am done with it I always bring it inside. I use heavy duty Carabiner clips and clip them in and out of heavy duty eye bolts. It is so simple to take in the house and bring back out. In the instructions they tell you not to leave it out in the weather. It is made of material and cotton and of course it will degrade over time outside. This is a super cute hammock. Originally I bought it for outdoors but it was too long for my 10 foot stand. I decided to put it in my bedroom on eyebolts in studs. It’s perfect. The only thing I don’t like is a faint smell but I’m hoping it will fade.
