So i was skeptical about buying because of the negative reviews but i figured i give this a chance because of the price as an hvac tech this thing has pulled every motor that i could not get off by hand has worked perfectly. There are several reviews talking about how the shaft moves that actually pushes the shaft of the motor which it does but the problem people are having with the puller is that the 4 set screws that go on the hub of the puller have to be equally tightened or the shaft will not be centered and it will not press the shaft of the motor out whoever read this, this is actually a good buy i highly recommend it for the price. ... show more

I’m an hvac tech. I rarely need to use this but when I do. It’s worked nice. Nothing fancy. Just beats running to the van for a hammer and a punch lol. I feel the bad reviews on here are from people who don’t know how to properly use this tool.

    • Did not work - here is what I did instead
This tool might work for some condenser fan blades but ours was a bit too stuck for this to work. At first, the tool moved the blade up but as the fan got towards the end the tool began tilting when the four smaller bolts started slipping and the main bolt became off-center. Tried tightening the four smaller bolts meant to clamp on to the fan but one of the heads broke. I didn't give up. I took my trusty reciprocating saw with a metal Diablo blade and cut the shaft and fan off the motor. I then hammered the shaft out of the blade with a punch. It took 10 minutes with 5 of the minutes spent getting the saw ready and putting it away. I wish I would have tried this method first. ... show more

    • Good but needs some improvements.
I love the idea, but it could use some improvements. The set screws are flat on the ends and this causes the unit to slip from time to time. If they had a knurled surface or a point, the purchase would be much stronger. It is kind of a bear to get set up. Especially on smaller fans. That being said, it is a good product and I like having this in my arsenal of tools. I have used it many times and have only had issues on the really small fans. ... show more

    • DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
This is a cheap piece of crap! The bolt bent the first time I used it and the smaller bolt that got around the hub doesn't tighten the tool down. The only reason it got a one is because I can't leave that part blank.

This thing worked as described. Was a little concerned when ordering the cheapest model, but the thing is pretty much bulletproof. The screw threads could use a little work so check those before you use the tool.
