Only thing I've noticed is at times the size and dimensions of the platform are as conducive to different blade types. This more for smaller filet or steak sized knives. You need to make sure you position equally and correctly at the top which can be tricky but worth it if you get it going. Having had several different knife sharpening “systems,” I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this one is to use. It arrives nicely boxed, making it a perfect gift for your favorite chef or knife nut. It’s absolute solid and well made, leaving you a quality feel in your hand. The progressive sharpening disks perform well to give a nice sharp edge to the knife. It makes pretty quick work of sharpening the knife drawer. The price is certainly reasonable when compared to other high quality progressive knife sharpening systems. The only negative I found is it doesn’t work well on small bladed knives like pairing or pocket knives.
