The Rollergard is a new innovative rolling skate guard that allows an ice hockey player or skater the option of roller skating on their ice blades when they are done at the ice arena. The rear wheel is supposed to be directly below the heal, otherwise the guard will break just in front of the rear wheel. I've seen so many parents at practice with these guards not set up properly. My son LOVES these & we've gotten many comments on the convenience of having them. One of the rubber strapped snapped. We purchased a second pair and 1 month after having them a second strap snapped. That was not too big of a deal because we still had one from our prior purchase. Well, about 6 weeks later another snapped. It would be great if they sold just the rubber piece because the roller portion is still in great shape. **update added a star because I found reasonably priced replacement parts at the company's website** ... show more

Bought two pair. A wheel broke on one and the company was good about sending a replacement. Now the back strap is splitting. When I went to the Rollerguard site to buy a replacement ($6.95 for two, which seems like a good deal), I was appalled by the shipping charge of nearly $17! Got these for our kids last Christmas but they didn’t really start using them until this fall so they could skate from the car to the locker room at the rink. As you can see there isn’t much wear on the wheels. Our 70 pound eight-year-old daughter tripped and fell and BOTH of them snapped in two. It wasn’t a hard fall but her toes hit the ground and that was that. Super bummed. ... show more

These were a great idea and I loved them for the few days my son was able to use them. Our problem with these is that the strap that holds the roller guard onto the skate snapped off after about 3 uses. The wheel was rubbing on them and tore the strap in half. I haven’t been able to find a “replacement” strap on-line, so I replaced with a regular skate guard strap. These also snapped in half after two uses- only from the bottom this time ( my guess is because they weren’t designed for the roller skate). So now I have a new pair of roller guards that I can’t use. ... show more

My 9 year old daughter has had these for a couple of years but hadn’t used them much until this season with not being able to dress in the rink. I’d say that she has used them consistently 3 times a week for the past 2 months until this past week when the one completely snapped in half. I’m very disappointed especially since she needs these now more than ever since I cannot go in the rink to tie her skates for her. My 12 year old hasn’t had a problem (yet) but he also doesn’t have to wear his as much because he doesn’t have practice as much as my daughter. ... show more

    • Great for dressing outside due to COVID19 restrictions

We purchased these roller guards for our 7 year old hockey player, and they are great. During the pandemic, we have had to dress outside, and parents haven’t been able to come in to help dress or ties skates. Our son is able to dress outside, with skates, and then use these roller guards to skate inside and then back to the car afterward, all while protecting his blades. Made well, easy to get on and off the skates and are completely adjustable from kids sizes to adult. My son is in a boys 2 and they’ll work just as well when he’s in adult skates as the do now, so we’ll get years of use out of them (unlike his skates!)
