OK so I have to say this was the best purchase of the season! Our almost 5 year old was struggling on his hockey skates the first time we took him out on the ice. After some googling I came across this fantastic pair of double runner blades. His second time on the ice (first time using the double runners) he was able to shuffle around fairly easily and was surprisingly stable. After a little bit he even insisted on letting go of our hands and going around on his own. He gained so much confidence on the ice his first time wearing these and was so proud of himself. I am thrilled to have found them. Note, these blades are smooth to the touch and not sharp like a traditional metal skate blade. He may not be cutting edges like real skate blades but they kept him from being discouraged and we all had a great day on the ice. Highly recommend. FYI in picture these are on size 1 youth hockey skates. I chose a looser strap setting when first putting them on and they wobbled slightly. Once I realized I should pick a tighter fitting strap setting and pull them on by hooking the strap on the back of the skate blade first and sliding over the front of the blade, there was absolutely no wobble. The measurement of the width between the two double runner blades is aprox. 1.5" so it's a good amount of width making them pretty stable. ... show more

Once I figured out how to adjust the strap this skate support blade was a real winner. My 4 yr old who has never been on the ice had hours of fun at the ice rink with friends.

Great for toddlers learning how to skate! We tried strap on double blades over shoes, and real single blade hockey skates. These rollergard runners snapped right on, and gave the additional stability needed.

Guards did not fit our 7 year old's small skates ranging from size 1-4. Guard was too short. Also our 13 year old who has not been on skates before could not use these either even though they are advertised for kids up to age 15. These are for preschool size only and would probably work very well for those size skates. ... show more
