    • Won't hold a 5 lb fire extinguisher

I always carry a first aid kit, recovery gear and a fire extinguisher. Working in healthcare, I anticipate the worst. While a fire extinguisher won't put out a large car fire or brush fire, it can put enough coverage to get someone out to safety. That's why I carry at least a 5lb fire extinguisher. I made my own straps using webbed strapping I got with one of my receiver hitch carriers. It worked, but when you needed to get the extinguisher, it took a couple of minutes to get it out. I wanted a quick release fire extinguisher and I read that this particular one could hold 5lbs. On a 2023 JLU Rubicon 4xe, it simply won't work. As others have posted, the straps are just a shade too short to go around the sport bar AND the extinguisher; plus, the circumference of the base is too narrow for a 5lb. I was able to use a spare webbed strap with Velcro to make it work. I'm just going to keep it rather than go through the hassle of trying to find another that claims to hold a 5lb extinguisher and then it won't fit. Color me cynical, but most of these items' claims are optimistic at best. ... show more

The Molle system is a great way to install difficult items, like this extinguisher holder, but work the effort. The sturdy materials should help keep the extinquisher in place and secured in the cab of the truck (no roll bar in the cab). This would be super easy install on a jeep roll bar.

    • Won't work with a 5lb fire extinguisher on a 2021 Jeep JLU if trying to install on roll bar.

I bought two of these because it stated would fir 5lb fire extinguisher. Not the case if you are trying to install it around 2021 Jeep JLU roll bars. The straps need to be several inches longer if it was to secure a 5lb fire extinguisher. From what I read now a 2.5lb fire extinguisher should fit fine. Not sure to keep them and send back 5lb fire extinguishers for 2.5lb ones. ... show more

I Purchased this to go on a Kawasaki mule 610 to hold a fire extinguisher. I added some foam padding on the roll bar and it fit perfect. Holds the fire extinguisher secure, with no rattling or bounce.
