I now believe Hell is less fire and brimstone and more fiddly little pieces used to hold up roofs that break easily but inexplicably do not have extra parts which make your fingertips hurt long after your done with 'em. Don't get me wrong, I like my diorama, but there was a lot of swearing and cursing getting it all put together. The "densya" (tram) is so friggin' cute, but getting it put together and attached to the track, THEN keeping it on the track with all the bits attached while I put everything else together was frustrating to say the least. There were a few times where I said screw it and either sanded down tabs that would not go where they were supposed to or glued the pieces together because the slots were just this side of too loose. I got it all together in the end, and I'm totally chuffed at myself for doing it. However, when my husband said the lights were too bright, I told him that he would be the one to take it all apart and reassemble it if he wanted to switch them out. Of course, I'm doing all this smack talk when it's pretty likely that I'll buy more Rolife kits in the future. ... show more

I will admit that this was my first ever kit, so I am not very experienced with building models. I did a bit of research with earlier reviews and also just some common sense to hopefully have a better experience. I suspect if I was more experienced, some of the issues I had would not have been as challenging. That said, overall this was pretty easy to build. The instructions are generally pretty good. I didn't use a dedicated build space, which in hindsight was probably a mistake. I did have a small sanding block which made sanding off tiny bumps from the frames a little easier. I used my own glue which worked pretty well. A couple of the tiny nubs broke off when I was trying to remove them from the frames or trying to insert them into other pieces, but not as many as I might have expected. If you are experienced kit builder, I suspect this would be much easier, but I am starting to think about what kind of thing I might want to build next. That said, the actual finished product was really cool, especially with the lights. And I like the way you turn on/off the lights. ... show more

Fantastic! Gf loved it! Instructions were a little confusing, but was understandable after a couple pages. Small pieces are extremely difficult to remove and can break. Recommend using small, flat item to break out and to not cause dents.

I like crafts where I get to build something then have it. These are especially fun. I've seen people complain about the instructions for the wiring, but I don't get it? The instructions in all the units I have clearly say how to wire them together with pictures. You also just match the colors. It isn't difficult. I will say, for the Magic House one, I struggled a lot more than with the other kits. The pieces were a lot more fragile, and some of the spaces almost didn't seem to line up. I broke a few pieces, but they glue together really easily, so it's not a big deal. The glue this one came with was a thicker substance than what I got with the Time Travel train. I couldn't use it, but I luckily had plenty left over from the train that it didn't cause an issue. This kit did use a lot more glue than the train! ... show more

Putting it together can be difficult mostly because stuff breaks easily while trying to put together… super glue and a hot glue gun turned out to be a life saver when little parts broke off while trying to get them to stay together. All in all though cute and fun just a bit frustrating.

This makes for a fantastic gift, but one thing to note is that it is hard work to make this DIY Book Nook. It isn't an easy assembling game that many would expect. Lots of small and fragile parts, ad there is even circuitry included for lighting! The lighting is turned on by a TOUCH-SENSOR, not a button, which is AWESOME! You also WILL need superglue so keep that in mind. 10/10 gift for people who like working on small projects. ... show more

Okay; long review but bear with me. I got this and I had a lot of fun building with my roommate! The translation for the directions was a little challenging to follow at times but the pictures were fairly detailed so you're able to figure it out just fine. I got to the part where you wire up the lights only for them to not work. Luckily I live with a contractor who is experienced with electrical issues. He found out that, in simple, the battery pack provided was faulty. We were able to somewhat half-fix it with some 'surgery' but I never would have known/been able to fix it if I didn't have professional help with it. Hopefully it was just me who had a bad battery pack and it was just a fluke! It took quite awhile and some pieces straight up did not line up. I ended up just cutting 3 of the pegs off to be able to attach one of the walls because none of them were able to line up without a different one getting misaligned. It was fine without the pegs, thankfully. Some pieces are ridiculously fragile. We had a couple things break in half or the wood stripped off. That's to be expected with smaller pieces, and some of then came with spares which was helpful! All in all, it was very fun but you gotta be crafty to not get too frustrated with it! My roommate and I also did the sakura densya one, and found it to be much easier to assemble and more organized of an experience. If you're looking for something easier than this try sakura densya! This was frustrating but fun and I recommend it. P.S- It tells you to paint the frames in some parts and supplies you with paint and a paintbrush, but I didn't end up doing that. I can see how that might make it come out looking better but it has a really good look without it as well! ... show more
