Comes with 15 sets, but with MIDI (cord not included) the number's only limited by how many sound fonts you can find. It's a beginner set, but that's me, so it's just what I needed. I do have some experience with music outside of drums and I could see recording with this. The pads are nice and responsive.

What not to love with roland brand? This is perfect I only wish I can afford higher model!! I really love roland electric drums! My first drum was td4kp and I gave it to my nephew and that feature is i think better than what I have now. 😅 4kp has more editing like tuning and muffling, and the hi hat is more expressive, better feel and of course Ultra foldable great for travel but td4kp is out of the market and discontinued thats why i chose this 02kv and it was a gift from my husband last Christmas he purhcased it from his amazon account and ofc I had to the review on my own account. Whether you are a beginner or pro this is perfect for you, the only negative about this is its not quiet when you hit the pads just like all the electronic drums especially when you live in an apartment building, we live in apartment before and i cant play it that much but now we have our own house that makes my drumming more fun and comfortable. Turning your apartment into a soundproof will take a lot of effort and budget. Thank God we got our own house now. About the pads, my anxiety is high that i might break the snare coz I feel like the mesh is too fragile for me but it says that The PDX-8 mesh pad is very durable, with a dual-ply mesh head, designed to withstand years of heavy playing. -It’s tension-adjustable, so you can tweak it to feel like an acoustic head without overstressing it. -The mesh material is reinforced, and the pad is built to handle real drumsticks, not rubber mallets. While it’s built tough, here are things that can shorten its life: -Playing with chipped or splintered sticks Tears the mesh surface over time - Excessively tightening the mesh ,Over-stretching may deform or damage the mesh - Very aggressive playing with full force all the time Not ideal, but it can take a beating within reason - Dropping heavy items or standing on it , Not designed for that kind of impact How to Make It Last Even Longer: • Use nylon-tip sticks (they’re gentler). • Wipe the mesh pad occasionally with a dry cloth to remove grime and dust. • Don’t overtighten tension should feel like an acoustic snare, but not like a trampoline.

Awesome drum kit. Never received a throne with my order. Wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be delivered in a different package or different date. Not eligible for refund because it was passed 30 days. Figure they could at least send me a throne since I paid for it if they aren’t able to refund me.

This drum set is ok. I was a little surprised by the quality of the controller, specifically the output options. This set only has midi and 1/8 audio out not 1/4 or other options. All vdrums sets I've owned in the past have had at least 1/4 out so this set requires adapters to work with any normal monitor speaker out there.
