I purchased this belt because I’m not a fan of the hook and post type of duty but that what my department issued. Not really a fan of basket weave either but there is no other option so this is it. This is a lot thicker belt than a regular leather basket weave belt so it feels more sturdy to me. I am a fan of the Fastex buckle and this one works great and does have the safety button in the center that must be depressed before the buckle can be released. It is also Velcro lined so it can be worn with the thin Velcro pants belt. It’s my first time trying the Velcro keeper system and so far it’s working well, but I still wear the traditional 4 snap closure keepers in addition to the Velcro. ... show more

The bottom line is, after wearing for three weeks, this belt appears to be as good as the much more expensive American made versions of this type belt. In my 18 year career I have worn a few different types of duty belts. Our department issues basketweave. I really liked my last basketweave belt, a Bianchi. I opted for their accu-mold over leather for better (less) weight. When I gained a couple inches at the waistline I needed to get the next size bigger belt. I know, I know, I needed to lose weight, but that seems to be harder and slower to happen than it used to. So, I went belt shopping. I found the same make and model belt I was wearing. It cost ~80 dollars. I don't remember paying that much when I bought my last one, but that was more than six years ago. I decided to do a little shopping around to see if there was something similar, but less expensive. I found this knock-off at the bottom of the page on amazon for only $31. I figured I'd gamble and give them a try. I have been wearing the ROTOTACTICAL for three weeks now. When I unpacked it, my first impression was it looks and feels the same quality as the Bianchi. It has just as good of finish, the stitching looks good, the look good though not identical to the Bianchi. I transferred my gear over and packed my old belt to carry as a spare for a while. After three weeks, I have nothing negative to report. I am very happy everything seems at least as good as the Bianchi. I will continue to carry my old one for a while in case a buckle fails on the new one. I may even lose some weight and move back to the other belt. I try hard to buy American made products where I can. I own American made vehicles. I pay more for American made products when I can find them. I'm a little ashamed I purchased the China made ROTOTACTICAL, but if they are beating the price of American products at a 30/80 ratio for essentially the same product, I don't see much hope for the American version. I hope Bianchi/Safariland becomes competitive again soon. ... show more

Nice feel to the belt. Its a soft plastic like and will do really well as my day to day (I no longer tackle people and this affords a comfortable way to hold gear & keys). Only gripe, it's in no way up to size 40. Size 36 waist is what I wear in my shorts and jeans and this is at max sizing but FITS so im not mad about it. Just wanted people to know size 36 waist or smaller, otherwise buy the large!! ... show more
